[Glitch] Suddenly Unable to Access Terminals
Okay this is a weird one.

I play my solo games on a private dedicated server. Recently in my main game I transferred my character over to Extinction to get a few tames and engrams, and bring them all back to my main base on Ragnarok.

So earlier today I got the last few tames, and came back to the city in order to upload them and my character. Stopped at a city terminal and gathered all the creatures around. Accessed the terminal and began uploading them all one by one. No issue.

Took the saddles/helmet off the quetz, argie and otter that I had brought with me from Rag. Emptied out their inventories and uploaded what items I wanted, then uploaded the quetz and argie. Still no problem. Dropped the otter from my shoulders and tried to upload that, and had a small issue where it's name appeared in the 'uploaded dinos' section, but it didn't disappear from my feet. Tried uploading again and it vanished, and only one entry appeared on the uploaded dinos tab, so figured it was just a visual glitch.

Took off all my armor and equips, accessed the terminal once again, placed my entire inventory into the upload page...all worked fine. Then I took one last look around the Extinction map to make sure I didn't miss anything I wanted to take.

Came to access the terminal one last time to upload my character...game drops to the main menu, saying it has 'lost connection to host'. Server remained running in the background, no errors. Logged in once more and tried to access the terminal once again - same result. Tried spawning in an S+ tek transmitter to upload instead, in case it was an issue with the city terminals - same crash when I try to access that as well.

So far as I can see, there's nothing that had happened in my game in the 30 seconds between upoloading my inventory and trying to do my character, to cause this issue. And as I say, the terminal was working fine just a few seconds before then.

Anyone else had anything like this happen to them?

I've tried verifying the game files, but that hasn't fixed the problem. Also tried accessing Extinction terminals in single player with a different character, and that worked fine - all my items and creatures are there to download as they should be. Tried restarting the server too, this also had no effect.

Most likely, you've uploaded too many things into the terminal at once. After 50 (what the max is supposed to be) it starts to get buggy, but exactly when it causes this issue varies from person to person.
Get on singleplayer and take things out until you're below 50 things in there, then log onto our destination server and download the rest, then you can go back to singleplayer, re-upload everything you downloaded, and then finish your move.

Hmm, interesting...I've never heard of this. So it's specifically the items that are the problem, not the tames? I've had a good 80 or so items in there before without issue, but if it's tempremental as you say then I guess it may just have worked properly that time.

Thanks very much for the suggestion, I'll try it next chance I get and report back the results...

Okay, update on this, with more info for anyone who might have the same problem in future:

What Hippo said above turned out to be true...when I removed some items from the terminal using my single player character, the game did then allow my server character to access the thing and transfer. Tyvm for the tip there Hippo.

However, the glitch also caused a new issue - even after I had taken every item out of the terminal with my single player character, the terminal still claimed I had 50+ items stored inside it. This prevented me from re-adding them to the Ark network, for my server character to be able to download. Effectivley, all the items I was trying to transfer were now trapped on my single player world and could not be removed, and my transfer terminal was unusable for items.

To fix this, I had to navigate to where the game stores info on your character's stored items, which is at Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Saved\LocalProfiles. Once there, I had to delete the 'PlayerLocalData' file. If you have to do this, MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE ALL ITEMS AND TAMES THAT YOU CAN FROM THE TRANSMITTERS FIRST! If anything is left in there, those items/tames WILL BE LOST PERMANENTLY!

Thankfully deleting that file did not delete my character or boot me out of my tribe, as I suspected it may do. But it did wipe the skins I recieve from completing achivements, which is a minor annoyance...not a huge issue though as I can get those again. It also wiped my in-game maps, so I'll have to reveal all of those again.

So yeah, hope that helps anyone else in future who may be experiencing simuilar problems.

You can get them out in SingelPlayer 99% of the time, if not your kind of screwed since they are stored locally a server admin can not help with these kind of issues.

The hard cap for items is around 149 if i recall correctly, if you close a obelisk/terminal/transmitter or supply drop with more uploaded, you will crash the next time you do so ..... no quite sure why SingePlayer isnt affected though seems to be a server thing regardless of settings.
