Dinos for orbital drops?
Soo, I was out for a walk with my level 140 enforcer ride (it was almost leveled to the max) and walked passed a purple drop, wasn't gonna do it, but the dome activated so I figured, why not? Called in my friend who was on their enforcer and about 20 seconds later we were both annhialted by multiple level 300+ wyverns that we couldn't even teleport away from with the enforcers.

So what exactly is a good way of dealing with these drops when you are only two people and the first wave starts with like 5 level 300+ wyverns that do % damage with their fire breath? Aside from cheating, and preferably options from extinction.

Foxdrake, and an owl pair. Summon and then tame a desert titan. Have fun for the next few days farming all the orbital drops.
Enforcers are just... terrible for high level corrupted fights. The whole no armor thing makes them laughable at best for anything tougher than a rex. I had a level 180 enforcer get stuck between 2 mate boosted corrupt carnos and a raptor during a yellow drop and it died in about 10 seconds. Yikes.

What would you recommend instead? The machinegun dinos?
I mean, I'd bring a pack of those, but apparently they only do 20 damage without a rider which sucks and the % damage of the wyverns is pretty hard to deal with since the machinegun dinos have a relatively low healthpool.

weve done up to a red drop with 1 velo , 2 imprinted maxed rexes ( 145 parents ) , and an argy . we put wooden spiked walls around it at start , triple stacked .
all ridden , all max leveled or close to .

oh , missed the part of " only two players " . tuff one there , dont think you can pull off better than a yellow .

I play solo. I haven't tried anything more than blue yet, but when I do have a go at higher level drops I was thinking I'd use several bred velonosaurs on turret mode, two per approach to the drop, then a few damage dealers like spinos or rexes on aggressive high agro range and high follow distance to the velons - say two DDs per velon. And I'd be on an owl overseeing the fight and healing where needed.

My thinking is that the velons could take out fliers, and back up the DDs as they fight the approaching hordes, and since the DDs are split following the velos they would always stay in range of the approach paths to the drop, attacking anything that comes close. Dunno if it'd work, but in theory it might put up a bit of a fight.

not sure if the locals can manage the purple drops with 2 unless you're using a titan. can finish wave 5-6 with a good giga or a reaper king solo though 3:)

You can solo all with a desert titan, a duo with an owl and foxdrake as I described would just make it go quicker and deal with waves you may miss.

I stick to using the Admin turrets from this one mod to solo and can pretty much hold indefintly against the beasts of even a purple drop. Only thing that manages to get past the turrets is the optic camo of the Rock Drakes and I can just pop them a few times to drop the camo and the turrets obliterate them in short order. I tend to deploy around 20 or so at least in as close to a circle as I can around the drop to ensure maximum coverage against attackers in all directions. These turrets are usualy 1 shot kill on just about anything other than the highest end corrupted beasts.

Ah here we go this is the mod I am talking about https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=754925246

Purple orbital is the highest level, rather than red for some reason.

tames unridden and not on turret mode will damage the drop , they cant tell the difference it seems .
1 rider on rex , myself on a giga and extra giga on neutral at a yellow drop and i had to stop what i was doing to wistle it away from drop everytime it chased something near it . it caused more damage to the drop than the horde did .

So, with a reaper king it was suddenly super easy to even solo up to wave 5 purple although once wave 6 hit for purple drops I just didn't have the damage output to defend, so this made me think. Is it a good idea to tame a paracer and fill it with turrets? I hear the corrupted can destroy metal so that's making me kinda uncertain about it. Basically, I need something that helps the damage output and isn't an "admin weapon."

Corrupt dinos have a 90% redux in damage from turrets. My solution is best and ez. Use the reaper or Rex and gigas above that were mentioned to grab the desert titan. 5 days of farming drops.

Paracer, level 150, max leveled life, with veggy cakes, Mate Boosted, Yuty Boosted, Imprinted,
Ascendant or Mastercraft platform saddle,
4 foundations metal or tek, as far away from the center of the platform as possible,
1 foundation for each side, put 5 pillar metal or tek high on center of foundation,
on top of pillars put 1 giant hatchframe metal or tek for each pillar, pointing far away from paracer,
put Plant X on giant hatchframe, as far away from the paracer as possible,
Plant X on Only Wild High Range, No Turrets, No generators, No Beds, just Plant X,
Owl Heal the paracer between waves, protect paracer from corrupted Wyverns (kills plants),
ridden or not does not matter, passive if not ridden, just put it on near the orbital drop,
dont put on Neutral if not ridden, it will damage orbital drop or run away chasing other dino,
Enraged corrupted Trike can push Paracer far away so kill those ASAP.

Making the Plant X high from ground and far away from paracer is super important!,
do NOT put Plant X on the platform saddle itself is super important!,
kill corrupted Wyverns ASAP is super important!,
the corrupted dinos want to hit Plant X that shoots them, but can not reach it because too high,
Plant X will not kill all the corrupted, but it slows them a lot,
then they come near the paracer, look at the Plant X, and just stand there, doing nothing.
If you play on server with S+ use the Sloped Tek Giant Hatchframe, and no pillars.

You dont kill the big enraged corrupted dinos with the paracer itself,
but kill those around the paracer with other ridden high melee dino, like Giga, Rex, etc.

It kinda tanks a lot land corrupted dinos, because they idle around the paracer,
before ejecting loot move paracer away from the orbital drop because the metal plates kills the structure on 1 hit.

100% success, sometimes Wyverns destroy the Plant X on top of paracer, but Loot worth it.

The best option would be to JOIN ME!! and use my 262 bred rexes and bred 260 velos, 280bredmanas and soon 220gigas to 3 man and obliterate the wyverns hordes and ride into the heavely waves that the purple orbital has to offer!!

yes...i like this idea the best.
