Ragnarok Base
New to Ragnarok and looking for a good base location for single player. Any suggestions? I have a few rules lol....

1) No spiders anywhere close. Ever.
2) Not too dark of an area(Deep jungles)
3) Easy access

Thanks for any help :)

I’m actually there now. Trying to find the right spot. Haven’t found it yet, but I like the location.

Just a heads up Viking Bay can often have Rex, Carno, Sabertooth, and Argents because they all wander down from the mountains to the south and east. Also seen a Megalosaurus

Yeah, I actually walked INTO a Rex. He didn’t do anything. Not sure why. Also got chased by a Carno, but I got away lol

Ragnarok is so huge, there's many awesome places to buid at. Viking Bay - if you want something "cool" - you can do like me and my gf built on the server we play on:

Screenies!

Castle, Dino Yard, Marine pen, bridge in the background to reach the other rock plateau.

Castle itself. Right side is the inner castle with crafting area, bedroom and Jerboa / Shinehorn area. Left side, is where we park Argies, Pteras and our 2 main wyverns on the top level.

That castle now has a front yard where the bridge is, with Thyla parking, Allosaurus parking and Shinehorn/Pergola pen.

Now, that's only one possibility. In the Redwoods, there's infinite possibilities if you want to try platform builds. There's a few nice spots in the Snow area (Frozen Lake with under the lake entrances). There's caves... The abandoned Castle... and other ruins all over. Seriously - find a Ptera / Argy and explore - it's worth the time doing nothing but exploring to find that ONE spot.

I like the mountain around 27,44. Reasonably central to the more inportant areas of the map (only thing that's far away is the desert, and you don't go there often) and close to Viking Bay or the Canyons for water access.

Alternatively, me and my friends made a base on the river plains at 64,35 once. That's a nice place...a few rexes once in a while, and you might see an alpha raptor, but the area is quite flat so you should have no issues building walls to keep the locals out. Also a nice place for beaver dams, so plenty of cementing paste, rare flowers and mushrooms.

I’ll check them out. Thanks!

Cave near blue obi. Has land to build on and large water dino access straight to/from the ocean. Here's what we've built:

Pier at night:

Modded unofficial using Castle Keeps and Forts.

CKF is an awesome building mod. You can build normally, or you can build pretty amazing looking castle structures. It's very versatile.

Just south east of the castle ( very close to it ) is a big flat space. I like it cos it has such a big area that is totally flat making building easier. The only gripe I have with that location is water. There are wells close by as well as the beaver dam spots , it's just a bit of a shlep to get the pipes there.

I think I know the spot you are talking about. It is kinda nice. It just felt a little close to the castle, and I had just cruised by there and saw 3 spiders with lust in their eyes. That's and absolute no-no for me.
