Parasaurs and raptors, if you're careful

Iguanadons are pretty decent easy early tame as well

Start out with dilophosaurs. They're easy to tame once you have the slingshot, and while they're weak alone, an army of them can be surprisingly effective. Plus they're easy to replace if you lose any, and if worst comes to worst you can leave them to fight a threat while you make your escape.

A parasaur is a great starting mount, but they run quite fast so taming them can be hard without bolas. If you can trap one in rocks and trees, or build around them before hitting them, then go for that. But if you're having trouble, don't underestimate the phiomia as an alternative. They're reasonably tanky, and because they're low level you could potentially find a high quality saddle in white beacons.

When you unlock bolas, you can start adding raptors to your dilo army. They'll give you much better damage output, allowing you to take tougher creatures. And also, as soon as you are able, tame a high level trike. They're very difficult to tame as they can't be bolad, so you'll have to kite it around scenery or get it stuck in the foliage. But if you can get one they are a gamechanger for low levels - they're exceptionally tanky, and their knockback allows them to take things much bigger than themselves if you time your attacks right.

Also, get a handful of female dodos and a male so you can start collecting eggs early on for kibbles later.

I'd suggest a Trike.

Trikes can be knocked out with a slingshot, just make sure you have mats to repair or replace them as trikes can take a bit to knock out. Try to avoid head shots as they take reduced damage and reduced torpor. They have a great carry capacity and you can stand on them to build or reach stuff that is out of reach on foot. As long as they have the uphill advantage, even a mid aged trike can take on a rex. The saddle unlocks at lvl 16 and the mats are easy to gather.

I also can recommend dilos. A small pack of them will gather enough meat to feed all of you, and enough hide to make saddles and armour.

Def progress to raptors as quickly as you can. They are a pain in the a$$ when you are on foot, but you can turn that to your advantage as the pounce ability and the pack bonus are all available after tame.

Learn to use whistles. You can command your hunting pack from the back of another animal and even at a low level you can be quite a deadly force.

Good luck!

Don't forget Dodos. They will help you get started with kibble.

The low level dinos are also good for eggs to feed your Oviraptor. Gonna need one.

How so?

What good does it do to tame any of the Simple Kibble dinos? I mean Raptors and Trikes are nice but by the time you have the kibble farm set up...

Simple kibble just isn't that hard and you don't need a kibble farm to make it. It is just a first step toward that end.

Trikes are first priority. Then a low level argy. Doeds, ankys and beavers are essential, but those come a little later..

I usually start by taming a decent level Parasaur. They are really useful as a pack mule since you can't carry much on you at the beginning. They can also scan and detect dangerous dinos which is also useful when you don't know the dangerous places on the map. Then I try to get myself a body guard, I'm mostly opportunistic on this one: Dilos, Raptors or even a carno. I once tame a low level megalosaur with a sling shot as my first bodyguard. I happened to have spawn right next to it in the start and it got stock in trees...so yeah be opportunistic in time like these. Even if you can't craft the saddle yet, it can still follow you around and defend you. You'll also want to tame a flyer so you can get around safer and acces far away ressources and a trike to harvest narcoberries so you can craft a tone of narcotics as soon as you can.

I have a lot good ones, Propcoton, eqqus, frog, sarco, Bronto, trike, Raptor, pteradon, sabertooth , itchysaurus, wooly rhino if possible
and if your like under lvl 30, why are you taming creatures and dinos, tame a parasaur and use it to harvest berries , tame dinos once you have a good base and are like lvl 60

Without power levelling I usually start with parasaur then iguanadon. You also want the seagull as a shoulder pet as it harvests prime from dodos which is very useful early game. Then raptor and Ptera (prime tame thanks to seagull)

If I power level using notes I spend about 2 hours getting to 60 and then I just go ptera > argy > game over thanks for coming.

Why would you wait till lvl 60 to get good tames? Large crop plot - lvl 36... that means you can kibble tame top lvl things waaay before lvl 60.
