Velonasaur? Help

So Ive been trying to look at which method is the best way to tame Velonasaur, since its been updated. Can anyone please tell me how to tame this badboy without dying?

Simple stone trap with doorways works for me. Use something that can jump, like a bary or thyla, to kite it into the pen, as it will shoot argies out of the air.

Make the pen small enough to jump over from the top of the entrance ramp (2x2 foundations should do it) and jump the kite creature over, velo falls in. Then you can use the doorframes for cover when it tries to shoot you, and just hit it with tranqs when it occasionally stops trying.

the best way for me has been to hide around a rock and shoot it then hide again. normally only takes about 9-11 arrows if you go for lower levels.
the hardest part is making sure nothing comes up behind you so take a mid tier body guard with you.
i play single-player so i dont have to worry to much about levels that much though
no stats changed just nobody else to worry about.

Just build a taming pen with doorframes (so you can shoot), 2 high is enough and it can also be from wood since the Velo can't damage it. Build a ramp on one side, aggro it and lure it in.
Alternative you can grab them (I caught mine with my Wyver) and drop them into the pen

definitely have some medical brews on you, because even with the relative safety of luring or dropping it into a taming pen, it will still hit you some when you are playing peek-a-boo to shoot it with tranq darts or arrows. I made the mistake the first time of trying to tame one on foot with no pen. I sooooo didn't know what I was getting into. That nasty bugger (lvl 145) ate me for breakfast, *and* my argy that was parked nearby.

whats your difficulty level?
i can never get mine to spawn anywhere near that my max level is 25 and im on 8 difficulty

A fairly painfree way of doing it is to tame it from the back of a saber/direbear or other strong gun mount. If you run in close it will stop ranging you and start meleeing you. Then tranq it out with whatever weapon you are using.

Nope. I tamed my first one about the same way, on the back of a tek raptor. Count to 5, turn, and shoot. My main problem wan't even the velonasaur, it was every other thing in the desert wanting a piece of the action. Especially the plague of thorny dragons.
