You don't nessecarily need a bred dino, but it would help. A HQ saddle with better defense would also be handy. As for dino types - big things like megalosaurus, spinos or rock drakes would be recommended. Smaller things would really struggle unless you have an exceptionally strong saddle.
Take a light pet when you go down, atleast 2 hazmats (I needed 2 un-upgraded), took a drake with me to tank and a couple metal shields. Got off the drake, held the shield up and waited to get impregnated. After the deed, frantically run back to your mount and finish off the reaper.
If you lead it into a trap with foundations as floors, you can actually keep it around and get multiple reaper babies from one queen. They can only dig through the map, they can't dig into base structures put down by survivors, so the queen will not burrow away if contained. And so long as you don't leave the area, which could cause it to despawn, it will stay there indefinitely.
The Youtuber Syntac did a video on it a few weeks ago if you wanna see the process in more detail.

hmm...
Your best bet is to call Ripley and ask her to do it for you.
Or maybe a light pet.
I am 95.7% sure this will help you.
