There is an mmorpg called Mabinogi where you can milk cows. There might be other mmos out there where pet milking is a dynamic.
People milking other people for money is just real life. Ark isn't that expensive. If you wait for Steam sales it's a steal.
Bethesda (includes real life gambling) and EA are usually the worse with their microtransactions. Square Enix not far behind. For a 3d fancy game Ark is a pretty humble purchase.
As far as Mac and Linux they are not as easy to program for as a good ol Bill Gates thingy. They have a rebellion not fit in to the mainstream we are the people thing going that makes it hard to find an employee who knows what they are doing.
I think it is a mistake to provide Mac and Linux with a version of any game. I would never make a contract with Mac and Linux. No marketer would convince me otherwise.
Oh wait, in ARK, the only thing that gives milk IS an egg-laying lizard, not a mammal. Carry on.
also on another note, i am also not a fanboy for this game as im sure some repling comments might say.... in fact i was gifted the base game and barely played it compared to most people all the way back in early access when it had mostly negative reviews due to preformance issues.... i only now just picked up the dlc (last night in fact) because the dlcs are dirt cheap atm... i know many companies that have games that are 5+ years old that still havent gotten a single pricedrop and only rarely have sales.... ark tends to put there dlc on sale during every major sale event and then some..... will i be picking up the new season pass for ark? most likely not, ill wait until the individual dlcs are cheap like i did with the previous pass..... i dont see why review bombing old good content is now a thing when new unreleased content is announced.... it is unhonest and makes you just as bad as the real greedmongers in the industry such as ea or activision
Which animals would you even milk? The only one you would realistically is the ovis, sheep milk is kind of a thing in real life, just not really viable.
Agree on wyverns though. Makes sense as a gameplay hurdle, but unless its not really 'milk' you're getting, its just plain weird. Think "milking" a snake perhaps?
Hmm well technically all of the mammals.... Bears, Megalocerous, Basilosaurus, Monkeys, Gigantopithicus, Mammoths, Wolves, Rhinos, i am sure i am missing a few, but you get the gist of it.
Maybe make a mod request for it ? Of course WTF will you use the milk for ? Maybe you can use it as a faster breeding food ? Give you better imprinting or faster imprinting ?
I mean producing enough milk that it'd actually be worth the time and effort. Dairy cows are bred to produce far more than their calves need so that there's some leftover for us.
Other animal species could be raised for milk, but it basically comes down to their reproduction, cost of raising, and temperament. Bovines are the most well suited and common, though camels, reindeer, and apparently even horses are milked in some places. Pretty much any human raised ungulate species it seems.
So I guess you could milk megalocerous and equus.:P
