well we still don't know what this is since on the site the thing has changed for the 3rd time and from the look's of thing's it seem's like this is could very well be something big that's dropping this week that i predict is DLC

so do any of you have a good idea of what this could very well be, also if you have decoded this new set of messages do tell what they are

so hermit it's being entiled as ARK Genesis? odd name but who am i to judge, also it is interesting to find out what this whole Arat Prime thing is and just who know's how many engram's and creature's this could add....i just hope they do make all the engram's able to be learned and y not just also have all the creature's too since we did help bring back all of the ARK's to earth after taking down Mecha Godzilla (Mecha/Alpha King Titan)

however freeing Rockwell from his prison of Aberration was a problem and this may give us the chance to kill Rockwell for good to allow earth to finally be rid of some kind of evil....even if this mean's that now humanity has to live alongside dinosaur's, ancient mammal's and mythical creature's among other thing's

The name actual makes perfect sense in the context of the meta theme of the game. The arks are literal arks, as in Noahs' Ark. Genesis is the first book of the Hebrew Bible and Old testament, covering the creation of the world. Arat is a play on Mount Ararat where it's purported Noah's Ark may have come to rest. And the skin awarded at the end of Extinction - HomoDeus - Deus is god or deity in Latin.

I'm not saying Ark has any religious implications or motive, but that the entire meta theme is based on these very obvious things.

i guess so even if this is a survival game where we wake up butt naked in a world filled with dinosaur's, mythical creature's and god know's what else and we start off taming something as small as the humble Dodo to eventually rampaging across the land on the back of a giant deadly theropod or soaring across the skies on a wyvern

It's looking very likely, at any rate. Considering the countdown site is entitled 'G', and some of the files people have decoded in those links are named 'Genesis Countdown ##'. It would make sense as well...as Steel said there are a lot of similarities to the biblical story, and also the word 'genesis' means 'beginning' or the start of something. And if we're gonna learn about the beginning of the Ark program and how/why it was made, it'd be fitting in a lexicographical sense as well.

Personally I just hope we don't get any more titans, and a map that has plenty of secret hidden areas and nice views/discoveries to find.

The titans were an interesting mechanic, but they didn't work so well in the game's world imo...they were rather glitchy and hard to use. And they were a little too 'out there' for my liking as well, they were so freaking huge that they took away from the feel of it being a survivor surrounded by beasts in a hostile world, and just turned it into a godzilla movie.

Not to mention power creep - each DLC has been slowly increasing the size and power of it's creatures, from wyverns, to reapers, and now titans. If we were to go any bigger than them, where will we end up - Marvel galactus-sized monster planets with their own gravity wells and atmospheres? If we go too big it'll just get silly.

And one of my biggest complaints about Extinction was the fact that the map was rather uninspired. Most of it was just wasteland, which all looked the same, and it didn't have many awesome panoramas to view, secrets to find, caves to explore, or discoveries to uncover. The city was a nice touch, but sullied by the fact that none of the buildings could actually be entered and used as a base, plus it was almost all above ground, with no interesting sewer systems or underground transport areas to visit.

Careful. Criticizing the story and saying some themes don't seem to fit well will get you labeled a snowflake or some kind of moron. :P

No it won't. There are a few difference between the common stupid and people that bring knowledge to the table. If you take a look how he choose to address the topic and how the common stupid does, you might find the largest difference.

A new DLC or season pass of DLCs would be an additional purchase. The current season pass has fulfilled the 3 DLC obligation (SE, ab, and ext)

The season pass was listed for a trilogy of DLCs. Scorched earth, Aberration, and Extinction.

It never guaranteed anything past those 3.

Its really just semantics. Trilogy vs season pass. Most people are confused and ask is the season pass a monthly subscription.

Depends on the definition of 'season'.

TV shows can run for multiple seasons, where episodes are divided up between those seasons to form the story. Buying a pass for a season of that show wouldn't net you every episode, just the ones in that season.

In gaming terms the definition varies too. Another game I play, Rocket League, for example, has competitive 'seasons' which run for a time before ending. And you can buy a 'season pass' for each of those seasons to get certain cosmetic rewards as you play. But you have to buy a separate pass for each season.

In this case, when they released the season pass, WC explicitly stated that it would be for three DLCs - Scorched, Abs, and Extinction. So they defined that as one 'season', and made it clear that this is what you would get for buying it.
