Aberration vs Extinction
Im wondering which one is better for 2019, I bought them both because of the summer deal, and I got the explorers pack for a great sale. Wondering which one to start on.

IMO you oughta start on Extinction.... way less of a pain in the backside than Aberration

I prefer going the story route, TheIsland > Scorched Earth > Aberration > Extinction, you do them in that order and get all the notes unlocked and it has a decent background story to it. Literally months of entertainment, probably the cheapest form of entertainment you can buy right now.

Of course i am a completionist so i really like to get all the notes done before i move on, i use a mod that tracks each note.

Of the two maps you asked about Aberration is alot better than Extinction, but about 10 times harder. Extinction does have the titans and Meks, but they seem too easy even for soloing.

I wouldn't say I'm a "completionist," but I've gotten in the mind of getting everything that Ark has to offer in the ways of accomplishments.

I've started my survivor (CAC/CAS/CAW/toon or whatever the hell people use; I prefer CAC) on Ragnarok, but I eventually had to leave Rag to enter other maps to get the explorer notes, dossiers and finally the Ascensions. I had to reach a certain level as some Pyria tames required me to be above lv 120...which was impossible for someone restricted to Ragnarok. I've done everything there was to do on The Island, and finished my business on Scorched Earth; now I need to dig through Aberration and get the Aberration ascensions as well as the explorer notes and dossiers. After that, Extinction.

Aberration has a much larger area than Extinction; second only to Ragnarok. Someone made a size comparison of the maps (see below)

Extinction has the 2nd smallest map, after Scorched Earth.

Aberration is by far the better map. Extinction and it's dinos were all just kinda 'Meh' to be honest, bit of a letdown from what I was hoping with the series finale and all that. Plus Aberration comes before Extinction in the game's lore, as Dradiin said above, so I'd recommend playing them in order.

I do like my Laser face dinos though.

What’s the mod you use for note tracking?

U see both map's do come with their own challenges

if you don't like how easy the game get's once you are able to get a flying mount then you'll love aberration since in that map flying mount's don't exist at all and your forced to use land creature's, also the surface of aberration is only accessible during the night since during the day it's up in flames

however extinction does also have it's fair amount of challenges as there is danger around every single corner whether it be the defence unit's patrolling the ruined city or the bloodthirsty pack's of the corrupted out in the wasteland that will attack anything
