Oh My... Windows 10 vs Steam Ark Cross Play...

I mean for YEARS people have been fighting for consoles to get cross platform support with PC in many titles all over the place and FINALLY microsoft got the fork out it's♥♥♥♥♥♥hole and finally starts to do it with XB1 and PC. Now i just read that ♥♥♥♥ing ARK windows 10 and Steam versions are ♥♥♥♥ing seperate? really on what Mc♥♥♥♥Nugget planet have they done? After fighting for ♥♥♥♥ing crossplatform play we now get it ONLY TO SPLIT UP the freaking PC community forcing them to play sep versions of the same ♥♥♥♥ing game and not only that buy BUY 2 COPYS if they want to play with friends on another version.........

Oh my f life i lit can't deal right now i think im going to smash my fkin PC up and go perma PS4 or soemthing before i get CANCER from this nonsense... The future of PC gaming and Steam is very ♥♥♥♥ing bleak if this is the route they are going, ♥♥♥♥ EA Loot Boxes and pay to win, this♥♥♥♥♥♥is the new contender...

Why is it so surprising?

Steam version uses Steamworks for multiplayer type crap

If the Win10 version had that it would be a copyright violation and all that other good stuff unless Valve gave permission to use it.

Microsoft has their own rules when it comes to such things

So yes, it does make sense for it to be this way, regardless of how annoying it may be for some people.

The Windows 10 version isn't compatible with the Steam PC version because.... it is NOT really a "Windows 10 PC Version".
It is the Xbox console game ported to Windows 10.

As is my understanding, Microsoft and Sony are the ones to blame for this, it's they that are refusing to play ball and operating a protectionist philosophy. They don't want to do anything which might benefit their competitors in any way.

Sony used to be okay with cross platform...they were quite open about it and willing to consider it if devs wanted it. But recently they've completely closed shop. And Microsoft have always been reluctant to do it as far as I know, even in the past. They did give the go-ahead in a few rare cases, but for the most part they refuse.

Sony made FFXIV cross platform 100% with PC while microsoft refused to have the game on their console so that's bull.

What? You want them to ♥♥♥♥♥♥ throw logic out the window and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ merge with steam overnight? Not gonna happen, it's a gradual process, and there's a good chance they'll never make steam games compatible with XB games, but at least play anywhere is a start.
