Shield Differences

I have a mastercraft metal shield. It has a higher durability than a primitive riot shield. Does the tier effect the damage taken or only the durability? P.S. Has anyone seen upgraded riot shields in aberration surface drops?

Higher quality shields = the more damage it can take before breaking aka durability

I think damage taken is a constant, unless the shields have an armor value? Also worth noting, the Riot Shield still may be superior to the Metal shield simply due to the fact that you can see so much better with a riot shield.

Shields block all damage coming at you from a cone shape in front of you, regardless of how hard that hit is. So the only stat which applies to shields is durabillity, they do not have an armor value. The higher the durabillity, the more hits it will take before it breaks and leaves you defenseless.

true, the visabilty facor will even make me consider a riot shield with less durability over a metal shield with higer durability just for the benefit of being able to see anything :)
