Best mount
I've got 4 different active games going. One on each map (The Island, The Center and Scorched Earth) as single player games. Then I've got one with a friend that we play two player in her game, which I actually play them most.

Since we've started I've had experience at taming and riding most of the dinosaurs in the game. However there are still a lot I haven't tamed or riden yet.

So far, my go-to flying mount has been an Argentivis (forgive spelling). It's the one I have in the two player game. I've boosted up the stamina and speed a great deal, and supplemented with extra weight for carrying on farming trips. Melee damage isn't bad either.

For a ground mount my current one is a pretty well build Kangaroo. I've got 2 issues with the Kangaroo.

1. They aren't very combat savvy so she dies easily.

2. She can't be healed using raw meat, like all the carnivores or omnivores, so it maekes it hard to heal the during combat.

What mount do you recommend overall?

I have different mounts for different things. A gallimimus for travel, a wolf for caving, a spino for hunting and fighting, etc.

But if you're looking for an all-round mount that is reasonable at everything, I'd recommend a mid-level carnivore like a wolf, sabre, carno or direbear. They're reasonably fast, but still tough enough to take (and give out) a beating, can be healed with meat, and have decent carry weight.

Wolf is a glass cannon, very powerful but a little squishy as it doesn't have a saddle. That's also a bonus though, because you can tame and ride it at any level. Also can fit in caves.

Sabre isn't as powerful, but is a bit tougher with a saddle. Can fit in almost all caves (think there's just one it gets stuck in?)

Bear is a bit cumbersome manuvering, but when it gets up to speed it's very quick in a charge. It's also extremely powerful and has very good weight.

Carno has a high level requirement for saddle, so it's difficult to get one early. But they're pretty fast and manuverable, and reasonable weight too, although perhaps not as much as a bear.

EDIT: Another thought - Kaprosuchus might be worth a look too. It's not quite as fast as some of the above animals, but it can swim pretty well so it's a decent all-terrain mount, and it can pick up smaller animals in it's jaws. Also that lunge can cover a large distance in short time, so it's pretty quick when there's nothing in the way to get stuck on. Low weight though...

Mosa for underwater stuff

Personally I like starting out with a couple of kibble tamed high level pteras. Easy to get, but they can pack a punch, and can retreat at any given time. Fast too.
I just have one on passive, and the rest following that one on neutral. Great for hunting, and you'd be surrpised what they can kill.

The most fun mount for me on scorched earth is the terror bird.....i was doing some serious parkour yesterday over the western mountains. You should try it.
