i have read and been told that they only give loot up to journeymen but i have ppl ingame telling me they are getting mastercraft and ascendent i want to know whats the truth am i wasting my time looting them or can you actually get yellow/red quality loot do the golden halos mean anything? are the drops with the golden halo where people can possibly get better than journeymen quality?

you can get a max of mastercraft in the red ringed drop/ yellow ringed drop. deep sea loot crates are where you get your ascendant and good stuff like that.

I believe the ringed drops are 'double' beacons, in that the quality of items in them is double what one would find in a normal beacon.

ive got many many MC items / BPs from blue, yellow, red drops.
you do not get asc quality from becons, thats from sea crates, swamp / snow caves, alphas and fishing.
the mc items from becons are things like cloth > chitin. nothing like high end armor or guns.

I recently found an ascendant raptor saddle bp ('only' 73 armour, though) in a green (!!) drop with a circle around it.

So I guess with those new ones, it's possible. We do not have any mods that change what's in drops.

highest i got was a mastercraft simple pistol from a purple drop, but thats over a year of playing lol.

I got a mc rifle from a yellow ringed drop on official.
Also a mc turtle saddle from green ringed.

but...turtle saddles only drop from blue drops

same here i love cloth armor and i want a better torch. i cant find any torch blueprint ever !
