I saw a wonderful videos about ark gameplay..
I was wondering how to record videos like these.. without lagging or big size videos?

There are amazing moments and
adventures to document.

Sorry, but you and Smittah are correct. I just double checked and I clicked on the wrong the video. The one I thought I was 27 seconds was 27 minutes because I forgot to stop recording.

My bad.

The 30 second video was 240MB. I usually don't pay attention since I have a 4TB hd for recording...

don't talk that bs pls! shadowplay its trash and its f*** the performance especialy on older cards. ARK is one of the best example of novideo mallware in action. alfter last updates kepplers got completly trashed because of "amazing" feature called PhysX.

lol! just ask keppler users how theyr cards perform alfter last updates. i have non black edition of GTX Titan. when i started play that game i was abble to afford high+medium settings at 1080p DX11 api. now with -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -sm4 -lowmemory -novsync -nomansky and all settings to low i can barelly maintain 30fps with reboots every hour cause memory leak. sure man! i spread bs and u are right! stop being peasant! not everyone have 500euro to upgrade videocards every 1,5 years when novideo release another maxwell on steroids.

funny, I got a GTX 980.... it's a year old now. But on epic/high if at 1080p I get between 110-35fps lower at dense base/dinos. One thing I know, if you add those launch settings, you will never know if the game has even been optimized.

buy a very good computer. then use any recording device.. i use OBS. but havent made an Ark video.

open eyes... wtf are you talking about? game developers have always played favorites between GPU manufacturers and specific technologies. That's nothing new. Most of the newest and greatest technologies are a good thing. Just cause you have an old beat up dodge pickup doesn't mean that everyone else needs to be cut down cause it's not fair to you.

Personally I use -

OBS to capture
Sony vegas to edit
Handbrake to shrink

Game = Epic settings, 1920 x 1200 res, no launch commands, 12 min video
After edit and shrink = around 280mb

I'll give you en example. A friend of mine who granted is an idiot, has a Core 2 Quad CPU that he swears is the best processor in the world. He bought it second hand cause he is cheap. Yesterday he ran down a list of used videos cards he found like GT 240 1GB cause he wants to play really nice games. There is no way he will be able to get the same graphics out of a game he sees being played on my computer. If you look up the games that were designed for hardware specs of that time for example, Far Cry 3 a 2012 released game. It would play the game just fine. If he were to say buy and install Far Cry Primal a 2016 release game... he would be very upset saying the game is un-optimized and how the game is just garbage and the company is going out of business. But that's not how the video game industry works. Almost every developer in the industry is trying to utilize the latest in hardware and software technologies. When it comes to the PC platform they try to focus on the enthusiast who spend the money on upgrades. When you have the budget gamers they all pretty much assume you should be playing this on an Xbox or Playstation. What happens on the PC side, companies like AMD, Intel, Nvidia, and others have to step up and compete on enhanced technologies. This means that game developers will just end up using newer technologies while older systems become obsolete. I understand you bought a first gen Titan... but that Titan was surpassed by GTX 970. It was a very expensive card and not really the best in value for a gaming system. I believe the pricing was over $1000USD. This is why I don't SLI, or but the highest end possible card. My next video card will probably be a GTX 1080 ti. Why? Cause it will be more powerful than 2x GTX 980. It will have newer technology that I can look forward to using. Yes it can be expensive to buy upgrades every other year. But what I find is that most ppl end up spending more than what they would on upgrades on unnecessary everyday items.

let me gues! u had 680 then upgraded to 780 then to 980 and now thinking about 1080? if yes to u are just pure peasant. nvidia its one of the whorst companyes in the industry. just take a look at gameworks titles and how they fail one by one. in that sense console gamers are right in pc vs consoles debates. gameworks libraryes are proprietary close source blackbox software. lets take as example hairworks. its based on tesseliation. up to 64x in whitcher 3. and they did that to force keppler users to upgrade to maxwells and harm the amd performance. instead of using tesseliation for better world geometry they wasted it just in hair effect which is not looking that much realistic. and they payed money to project red for implementation. battman arkham knight,mafia3,gears of war remaster (strange artefacts because of HBAO+),ark survived evolved (99% of lagg spikes are physx releated and delayed DX12 implementation). you are ok with that? i'm not cause i'm not attached to brand and i'm fine until something don't harm my experience. i don't pretend to get ultra setings on old card. but when every driver update and major game update make it run whorser and whorser..... i become mad. i don't see the encachements in graphic fidelity. 6 gbytes of vram is enought to hold 4k textures. 224 tmus provide enought fill rate. 48 rops is more than enought to rendeer the medium LOD of meshes. why i don't feel the needs to upgrade my card whille i play grafic card vendor agnostic titles like battlefield 1? oh yeah! i predict ur EA argument

Yes, use Handbrake to compress it. But I just recorded a 30 second clip a couple days ago and it was 10GB.

Look up around post number 35 or 36. I was mistaken and looked at the wrong file. I had two that looked the same from the thumbnail and looked at the wrong one.

OBS (Open Broadcast Softare) is free and records good qulity audio and video, it takes some tweaking to get the settings working to your liking but it supports overlays and stuff too.

Thats what alot of people use to start with but I recomend it if your starting off as a youtuber or just wanting to record for something to look back on down the road.

there also is BandiCam and Fraps witch are paid software but they do the same thing just easier to set up and record.
