Server using way too much RAM?
I could really use some help / suggestions with a new server I'm trying to get up and running that keeps crashing. Our server is using about 90% RAM with no one online. We've done some trouble shooting and we thought it might be that we set the dino spawn rate too high so we changed it back to vanilla rates. It seems to have helped on our Island Map but our Ragnarock map is still sitting at a hot 90%.

I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm using the PremiumArk as my host and I've contacted them about the issue and all they said is it's probably one of the MODs and there's really nothing they can do. I have the lowest option right now (7gb) and these are the mods I'm running:
HG Stacking Mod 2500-50 V2.6,
Platforms Plus and Structures Plus (S+),
Ark Steampunk Mod,
Reusable Plus
Cages XL,
eco's Stable Structures and Decor,
Multi weapon attachments + tranq rifle,
Castles, Keeps, and Forts Medieval Architecture,
Omnicular v1.51,
Baby Premium Care,
Element Crafting Station

We've tried looking things up about the MODS seeing if there's any issues with them and the only one that had any issues is the Eco's stable but when we removed it there was no improvement. At this point I'm just super frustrated cause I can't have a server crashing every 30min. but I don't know what else to do.

ETA: We also tested how the Island server ran without and mods on it just to see what a "base" RAM was like and it was still at 75-80% which is when we set the whole Gameini. back to vanilla. Doing that made the server run at 45-50% RAM no one on and nothing on the map but dinos which is why we suspected the dino spawn to be the problem. When we tried setting the dino spawn to what he had been using it bumped the RAM to 60-70%.

Remove all Mods which doesn't have a last update date of this year. Do not use each mod you find or see in some youtube streamer videos.

This Mods have to old last update dates (Never updated to the new DevKit) and therefore this can cause problems:

- Reusable
- Cages XL
- Multi weapon

Remove them and your problem will be fixed.
Notice for the future: --> Do not use unsupported Mods, only use mods which was updated before a few weeks/months.

It might take you a few hours of restarts but at least you will answer your own question.

Yeah just edited in that we did remove all the mods and started it up and it only dropped the RAM but 10 er so %

This can be true of some mods, but not all. For instance we use reusable plus on our server and it still works fine, doesn't cause any issues.

7gb is the lowest option the next option is 14gb but it's twice the cost and that's just not an option right now.

7GB ram? Hmmm. Servers are usually 4/8/16 etc so the ram doesn't drop into single channel mode due to odd pairing. But maybe it shares it across virtual hosts like this?

Anyway, I noticed on my machine that the launch memory is often higher than the actually running memory. So it uses 5 to 7GB ram on startup but once the game is running it drops to a lower value. Are you monitoring ram usage all the time?

What is the crash report?

Sorry to say but Ragnarok, Mods and Players will eat up RAM fast. So with only 7GB you'll always be in some trouble.

Stupid thing is there is none. The server just stops working. Kicks everyone out. Then restarts.

Nothing in Saved/Logs ? What about any .crashstack files?

Remove all mods, Delete & refresh server files restart with a clean set of ini files, Check RAM.... Im going to guess that it will run normally, then go from there 1 mod at a time & FYI eco's Stable Structures and Decor, & a few other eco mods have caused us issues on our server, had to remove 1 just the other day as someone used the mod & from that point on the server went to ♥♥♥♥, Removed mod restarted everything was fine, Have NO clue what happened or why
TheGeekOwl Sep 22, 2017 @ 1:18am
Not that I've found. PrimiumArk is new to me So I'm not 100% sure where to find those if they even exist.
War3zuk Sep 22, 2017 @ 1:25am
If after starting It stops, As in looking on the CP it says stopped thats sometimes a bad ini file config ?

I have Monitored the RAM and when it's just been chilling there with no one on and hasn't been updated / restarted it's at 90% and it usually just continues to go up until the server just dies. It's not right after starting it's several hours.

And that was with no MODS? To rule out a mod leaking memory.

Sounds like a Leak ? which is ussually mod related.. ?
