Missing pets

So I wanted to know if I could find my tamed hyeanadon even though i cant find her. She didnt die and is obviously still alive but idk if they can wander off or whatever. If anyone has a method for finding lost dinos then please respond. Thank you in advance.

If you are on a vanilla server (no mods) there really isn't a way, maybe ask people if they've seen it chances are its gone sorry :(.

There are many things that can cause dinos to go missing. People kiting it away from your base, wild animals attaking it making it move someplace else, sometimes even the map can eat a dino, which wouldn't show in tribe logs. Sorry to say, but the truth may be that she is indeed gone even if there was no death message. My best suggestion for you would be to search carefully in the immediate area of the location you left her at. If you can't find her then odds are she's been eaten by the world :(

Just my 2 cents but never build above a cave. I've lost dozens of pets at random when building bases above caves. With rendering or whatever sometimes they fall through and I know there down there but there stuck under the oblivion of the caves. It sucks. I've had to move entire bases before after finding out that I'm over a cave and all of a sudden random dinos go missing

If it's a single player game or your own server you can open the save file in a text editor like Windows Notepad and search the file for her name. If it appears in the file, she's still alive somewhere in your world. If it doesn't, then she's either died or glitched and vanished.

Also if you're on solo/own server, there are some mods which can find missing pets, you could try installing one of those.
