I need help with paint regions on dinos and the wiki is confusing and has no info
since the start of playing ark i have always painted and i am really good at it, i make templates and use others templates but 1 thing im confused with is that the wiki says that dinos have paint regions and they dont so i searched it and went to a wiki page with templates for paint regions but that is where it gets worse. if you download it will it give you the option for that region or does it just give a template and just paint over that? if you have the region options for dinos or have a solution/answer tell me all you know on the subject

No no no... that's something different. When a creatures spawns the color regions are the areas there are different colors.
it's basically a template for the colors a creature has like the 3 different colors on a spinos fin or the colors on the thicker scales on an allo.

Color regions apply to the dino's natural colors in the wild. Dinos have specific regions on their body which can be randomly picked from a selection of colors when the dino spawns. It's this that the wiki is talking about.

Painting dinos is something completely different, and isn't affected by color regions at all.

ok thanks i see where your going like color mutations all donos have (yes wild dinos as well just breeding mutations are best example) natural regions that cannot be changed yeah i get it now it was just cuz i look on the wiki a lot and i always thought that when it was mentioning regions thus you could paint them seperately but thanks glad i dont have a bug and its just regions for breeding

You can change the color of a dinos color regions by entering a comandline that targets the specific region. I change my dinos colors all the time using this http://jdimensional.com/ark/dino-color-generator/

At least it's a rather clever necro, 10/10 wording choice.
