However, finding assendants is a hard feat... I have once dabled in the base loot system and found it very lacking. The only solution I ever found was to use a mod.
Couple that with the overwhelmingly lack luster looting system as a whole and you will find that mods give you more customization for the work you have to put in yourself. Even if the mod is outdated.
However... i added the multiplier after we already had loot tables so havent tried it without.
Thought the max limit for that stat was 5? I know with other UI config elements you can put a larger amount in the box, but the devs specifically said 5 when announcing the config setting. Does a higher vailue work too?
Loot quality is not necessarily equal to more ascendant, actually ascendant is the least you should work towards. You can try giving yourself blueprints of high quality from the dev console for example. sometimes when spawning loot quality 100 Bps and Items, (which is a mad high loot quality) you will too get one or two apprentice/journeyman etc. items that have the same stats as ascendant gear but dont cost one tenth of the resources (but still a lot probably). Because they have a high loot quality but not a high loot level.
Setting the loot quality up will increase your chance to get good stuff, you can also check it in the gameusersettings.ini file. If you put 100 for example and it's in the userfile too, it worked, if not, you prolly need some override command like with the difficulty.
I know there's a degree of RNG in the loot quality values in beacons and commands, I edited a custom loot table for my server's beacons for a while and saw the variety in those. But here I'm speaking specifically of this multiplier - when the devs announced it they made a point of saying that the possible values were 'From one to five', and didn't suggest that this multiplier could be set outside of those boundaries as they have done with other multipliers in the past. So I'm wondering if a setting outside of those boundaried does actually work in this config?
Please could I ask a favor bro? Could you open up your .ini files and just let me know where the game stored your setting, and how it is formatted? As I say it doesn't seem to be working on my server, so I'd be interested to hear how the in-game UI writes the config into the files. Whether it's in the game or gameusersettings, which section of the file, how it formats it etc.
If you could do that it'd be much appreciated, thanks^^
Well i host a private server, and i wanted to improve the quality of BP and items that are in the cave crates specifically.. But i then changed idea to improve every crates. It's easier (no need to customize everything) and it won't be unbalaced as this is a PVE server so no problem about PVPing
Max dino 130 ? That's a bit weird as wild Max level for dinos should be 30 * difficulty level (Level 4 = 120 max and level 5 = 150 max). Playing on difficulty 4.333333 then i guess? Still weird..
This might be like the spawn command: In theory you can use 1 to 5 to set the quality of the item you spawn.. But in fact you can set a value of 100. You have even more chance of having Ascendent according to my tests. For example, spawning 100 items with quality parameter set to 5, i sometimes still have Mastercract and some rare Journeyman. While with quality paramter set to 100 i have most of the times only Ascendent items for all of them. But as it is still RNG, this statement can be false too..
I am also interested, as I still haven't added it to my Game.ini (Should be in that file if i'm correct... ? )
Well at the end of all these, i still don't know if it is multiplier or override, i guess a dev only has the final answer, or it would need some testing to have an idea of the answer (with no certitude to be right ^^")
And finally, i also had another generic question: Are all the startup options possible to be added in the INI files ? Or some of them are STRICTLY startup parameter ?
The wiki is indeed not up to date sadly.. =/ Actually the command we are talking about here is not in the wiki server configuration list either.. ^^"
And no I have no particular ones in mind but i was asking in order to learn a bit more about all this lol. For example the "ShowFloatingDamageText" is in the commandline according to the wiki.. But i think we can add it to one of the INI files and it would work too... If i'm right ? Which is why i asked this question, simple curiosity ^^
Thanks ^^
They really should complete the Wiki page, some of them are missing (like the one about the supply crates) and also clarify if something can be added as startup param but also if it works if it's put in an INI file.. Or duplicate the entry for each category it goes to...
Seriously how an admin can be an effective admin without all these infos :/ I was okay with that until the launch, but now... ?
