How to Tame an Otter...
1. Kill a large fish.

2. Drag fish up to otter.

3. Spend half an hour with the dead fish body flapping in your face while you vainly try to wiggle it into a position where you can see the 'Hit E to Feed' prompt on said otter.

Not a complaint, just a lighthearted way of pointing out a bug with the new dragging system and fish feed taming ;)

They could add a feature to the otter where it becomes interested in you if you are carrying a fish kind of like how the ithy's are.

Eh, I dunno, it'd probably be a much better place.

On the topic of the otter though, just holding the fish off to the side like it used to be held would make the whole thing a lot easier. Perhaps the new 'two handed' drag animation could be updated to have the hands off to the side, and the fish body hangs where it used to hang before it was updated.

Dang, have I really done it all wrong all the time, I thought I could just do this:

1. Get on my argie and grab the otter with the agies beak and find a safe place near water to land

2. Get on my anky and kill lot of fish.

3. Take all the dead fish and walk up to my argie that is lowering its head when I get close to it and then press E when I see feed text showing up

Oh man, I feel so stupid now xD

Low level BEGINNER players are the ones who are going to be interested in getting an otter to compensate for the extreme temperatures they are exposed to. Not high level players who already have an argie and nice clothing to wear. Because it takes an otter to get an argie.

So with the argie method you left out a step. First step is to KISS THE FUZZY WHITE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ OF THE HIGH LEVEL PLAYERS UNTIL ONE GIVES YOU AN ARGIE FOR FREE OR PERMITS YOU TO USE THEIR PRECIOUS TRAPS.

Get your kissy lips out this is a kissing game and you need to learn to kiss kiss kiss rear ends. And kiss it good.

A low level argy is extremely easy to get. No trap needed.

lol I do feel obligated to point out that this thread was made long before the argent TLC pass which allowed the bird to pick things up in it's beak. Since then things have changed quite a lot in the game.

I'd really have to disagree with that one myself. I find the otter very useful all the way up to endgame, and aside from on Abs where you need a light pet, it's the only shoulder mount I use. They can be very helpful in Ragnarok's murder snow area where even ascendant fur gear will not keep you warm, and in lava caves and boss arenas where you have to wear a lot of very hot armour. Hey with it, they're even handy in a metal base, because with the furnace/fabricator/etc going all at once, that can heat up to extreme levels too.

I am wondering if you guys know this... Otters can carry more than 1 of the same Artifacts in its inventory. Its a must have when you are going to collect Artifacts.

? Afaik no tames have been able to carry artifacts at all for some time. You can confirm this is possible?
Otters are the one and only that can do it :) I would never go w/o my otter when collecting Artifacts.

P/S: Guess I am right, seems like there are still players that didnt know about this
