Ryzen3 1300x or if you dont mind spending $20 over your bugit go with a Ryzen5 1400x. You dont need an i7 to run Ark at max but if you want to run the game at "best" you need the best processor if you wanted to acheive the tiny bit of fps gain you get with an i7/R7.

Basically get a R5 if you can as it can handle ultra settings as long as you have the gpu to back it up. I currently use an i5 4460 with a GTX 1070. Play the game at ultra 1080p and I never come close to 100% cpu utilization. The R5 lineup beats my i5 4460 in performance since my cpu is few gens older.

Generally getting an R7 or i7 will gain you a tiny bit of fps around 2 - 4fps but costs around $300. You can also overclock the R3 and R5 to get a great bang for your buck.

Also on a side note i5 are good its just they start around $180 last time I looked.

Edit: Yes, like the poster below me said you might have to upgrade your motherboard and ram. Different processors take different sockets depending on the brand and generation. Whats your current processor?

Depends on what ram and motherboard you have right now as an upgrade to the cpu could mean needing to replace them.

What motherboard? If you aren't going to get a new motherboard people will need to know what you currently have. Also, what CPU do you currently have? It may not be worth upgrading at all.

My specs are: Gtx 1050 Ti, intel core i3 2130, I recently bought 12 gigs of ram and i previously had 6 to see if it did any difference but it barely changed performance. My motherboard is called 0XR1GT.

I dont think it worth it tbh.

To get a cpu you'll need at least cpu + motherboard then you cant get both on your budget.

My best advice would be save money for an i5 at least 4th gen and a compatible motherboard. This way you can still use the same ddr3 ram you already have.

Personally I would stay away from AMD. Most games take advantage of single core performance and intel is much better on that.

Alright thank you. Ill try to find an i5.

look for a used dell or hp with a 3rd gen i5. they are in your budget and just slap your 1050ti and ram into that. it should be an upgrade for u

you wont get much better performance with that mobo. you could try getting a used i5-2500k. those were wildly popular. newegg has refurbished i5 2500 (non k) 96$
also dont liste nto amd haters. Ryzen cpus are absolutely terrific, clearly best in current gen.

i've found your motherboard
you can only fit some 3rd gen i5 cpu like i5 3570
and in manual it said it doesn't support more than 8gb ram

Cough lies cough

How many games are optimized for a bunch of cores?

How many games take trully advantage of single core performance?

You're not wrong if you consider more stuff than a gaming pc, but well this is a gaming forum.

I could try to get enough for a i5 3570 but would I be able to run this game like extremely fast? I want to know if its really worth all that money.

I have a i5 6500K and i never had any problems. Maybe try that. Depending on your graphics card and other compnents you can find what fits best. Tell us your specs.
