Max Difficulty Broken?
I have been searching all day and tried several fixes and tweeks... but on my single player vanilla-ish island map the dinos still only spawn with levels at a multiple of 4, and 120 is the highest I have been able to find.

I've tried manually typing 1.286 for the difficulty slider from the launch menu...
I've made sure that the Maximum Difficulty option was checked.

It used to be that when things worked right I would see a max of 150 and wild dino levels would be in multiples of 5.

So, I humbly ask... what I am doing wrong? I've not played for a few months so I'm sure I'm missing something, I just don't know what it is. Again I have done an exaustive search of the forums and tried many of the things that were suggested there (with the exception of the override because this is just a single player local and not a dedicate server - unless that is what I'm mistaken about).

I love this game, but would really like to get over this 120 speed bump.

1.0 is the maximum the difficulty offset can go to. To get it any higher you have to override it in the game's ini config files.

Go to Steam > steamapps > common > Ark > ShooterGame > Saved > Config > WindowsNoEditor and open up the file 'GameUserSettings.ini'. In there you should find a section marked [ServerSettings]. Somewhere under that header on a new line, paste the line:

OverrideOfficialDifficulty=#

Then adjust the number to whatever you want, based on the game's difficulty formula:

http://ark.gamepedia.com/Difficulty

For example, a value of 5.0 will give you dinos of 150 max, a higher number will make them spawn even higher.

Okay so I was mistaken, I read that on a couple of other posts but thought that solution was only for server settings modification and not for a locally hosted ARK. So of course the one thing I didn't try was the real fix... I suppose they are essentially the same thing but with the server configuration guides, I was looking for the configs in this path:

Windows GameUserSettings.ini ShooterGame/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/
Windows Game.ini ShooterGame/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/

Which is what threw me off since my local single player session did not generate that particular folder. WindowsNoEditor never even occurd to me.

Well, now I just feel like a "stupid, dumb"... so thank you for your patience. I do appreciate it.

You don't have to feel dumb man, the way some of the configs work on this game can indeed be quite confusing. Took me a while to figure many of them out. Even with this issue here, between locally hosted files, single player files, defaults etc. there's like 4 or 5 different versions of the ini config files. It's all too easy to get mixed up between them.

Do you guys know if you can adjust the minimal lvl the dinos spawn at?
I'd love to make it so the minimal lvl the dinos spawn at is level 100 as it's too rng trying to find high lvls for breeding.

^ I'm afraid there's no option for that, no. Certain maps are set up to favor higher levels more (the Center, for example), but there's no way to do it for every map.
