Retrieving stolen items?

I just spent a half hour farming narcoberries to make some narcotics, very early in game, then this bird flies down and takes all of my narcotics - I killed it with a bow but it didn't drop the narcotics it stole? Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Anything that can be consumed the bird will eat as it steals, I believe.

In my experience and from reading threads, most people will always lose their items stolen by those birds. A smaller amount say they will find their items on the ground. Those birds are one of the most dangerous creatures in the game because of this, since you can lose an ascendant shotgun for good in just a matter of seconds.

You know there is a way to remove dinos you don't like in the configuration files, so you can play the game without them...?

Anything consumable will be eaten, anything not consumable will be dropped on the ground after a few second as a default 'dropped item' box.

ps. F'ing HATE those F'ers... Funny thing though, you need Pego egg kibble to tame them. So you need eggs from A-hole One to tame A-hole Two :D

Sadly not the case for many though. I dunno if it's a bug or what, but I've yet to see an ichthyornis drop a single item on the ground, edible or otherwise. Everything they take is simply destroyed on my solo games and my server with friends. We've fought them on flat, open beaches outside our base where packages would be easy to see and pick up, but none of us saw any items at all.

Well. That's how it's supposed to work. And I've picked up my weapons. However we all know that 'supposed to' isn't something that works very well in ARK :)

Could you tell me how? Because I was super excited to get back into this game with all the new updates and the new UI and what not, all to have it ruined by some piece of ♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bird that eats 20 narcos and continues to fly and fight.

don´t forget to use the destroywilddinos command afterwards to delete the existing ones
