Eels and jellyfish
The eels and jellyfish made every ocean mount beside the Basilo and Tuso worthless. Even a Mosa can get stunned and even killed by them, this is totally unbalanced.
Please Ark Devs, fix this.

Gaming decades and I dont think Ive ever known an instance where a perma stun mechanic has been a good idea. Whether you are using it, or its being used against you.

Anyway, play unofficial, problem solved.

Eh, I've had 1 eel and jellyfish stunlock a group of 4 mega's so all you're asking for is them to get wiped out. I personally just avoid them as much as possible.

Ya the stun lock is harsh but it can be over come very easy... Not sure why the devs make the whale King of the sea but what ever.... Try bringing 4 whale or 4 mosa into the sea caves lol wanna place bets on who comes out alive?

Agreed, perma stun is generaly a bad mechanic.
At least give some sort of temp immunity after a stun.
More challenge all good, but locking down an animal isn't the way to go.

That's the thing, you can't use Mosa's anymore, because you have to be afraid of those eels. I love the Basilo, but does it have to replace almost every mount in the ocean?

Level 5 eel vs level 305 mosa, who wins? Eel by a landslide because it glitched inside your mosa.

i hated the damn cindarias becuase i spawned a lvl 180000 omega mesosaur from the alpha mod, but guess what? the center's inability to polulate right caused there to be over 1000 damn jellyfish in one area, the mosasaur was stunned in place and couldnt attack, i finally gave up trying to save it and had to use a kill command on it =_=

It makes no sense that water dinos have very little counter-play if any at all. Challenge requires some counter-play. 1 dino does not count at all...

The eels do need better balancing, perhaps a cooldown on the stun to give the player a chance to fight back/escape.

But the jellies are fine as they are imo...they're so slow moving that as long as you stay alert they're easy to avoid. And if you have to get past some of them, a decent damage crossbow works wonders. I've only been killed by jellies two times, and both were my own fault when I got too close and didn't check the area first to make sure it was safe.

They should make it so the eels and jellyfish are limited with their amount of stuns, dependant upon their level. They should also make it so wild fish will hunt them down too or vice versa.

Well you're right, the jellyfish are not as bad as the eels.

this is the best idea for it

I've never known jellyfish to hunt their prey in such a vicious manner. I've also never known jellyfish to pick and choose their targets in such a manner that involves only a warm fleshy like myself. What's wrong with that nearby lost parasaur? Is that dino meat not good enough?
Timmy the Tooth Apr 3, 2017 @ 10:46am
I don't know about aggressive, but jellyfish in general are pretty much something you don't want to mess with. https://www.planetdeadly.com/animals/dangerous-jellyfish
