Megalosaurus attack bug?

If you don't ride them do they only use their grab attack on all creatures?

I noticed how I kill animals very fast(1-2 bites) with my 500% melee Megalosaurus at night but when I get off and whistle attack target he seems to only use the grab attack, dealing only 15-20% of his normal damage.

Is it like that for everyone or just me?
You can easily tell if your Megalosaurus is using the grab attack when attacking as he'll drool a lot more than when using their normal attack. Once in a blue moon the normal attack does come out and animals die instantly, but I was thinking about bringing a pack of them to the Broodmother but not if they won't use their normal attack most of the time :(

it also with that for me.
it is highly annoying when your in aberration and the strongest pre drake dino to use is megalosaurus. but they don't use their full power

Regular Megalosaurus do this too, it's been an issue since their release that was never addressed since the Megalosaurus is lackluster outside of Aberration. Since they weren't used until recently, no feedback has been given on it for it to be addressed.

Still kinda shameful that they didn't test this before release though way back then and it's still an issue today. I guess the more reports made on it now, the better.
