Can a rex/spino/mammoth fit into a stone dino gate?
So yeah, I've come to the point where I'm ready to tame one of them but I want to be able to keep them safe. I've asked this question before but I've gotten unclear/contradicting answers. A clear one would be nice and much appreciated. BTW how big should I make my dino keeping pen (Currently 4x4 stone dino gates)

Rex can definitely fit into a standard gate. Don't think a mammoth can though. Can't remember about the spino. I know a sarco and woolly rhino need behemoth gates.

You need a behemoth gateway for spino/mammoth, rex fits into normal gates.

A behemot is 7.5 walls wide x 12 walls high if i remember well, normal walls clip inside it.

Rhino is a little weird, can fit into a small gateway, but not if it has a gate on it, kind of defies the point!

rex yes, mammoth no. spino-sometimes if ur lucky but quite often they get stuck and die lol. easiest way to know, is by checking the gamepedia. look up the gateways, it will tell u which dinos will NOT fit thru

Ok and my current 4x4 stone gate pen is pretty cramped right now, I'm a one man team on a x3 gather server with a doed, what dimensions should I go for next?

The gate will clip in the walls but not all the walls will clip into gates Build all walls first and any thing that might touch it

Huh? If you're responding to my question about the dimensions I plan to have a behemoth gate on opposite sides, what does clipping have to do with anything?

He is talking about the gate frame fitting to the walls beside it. In order not to have a gap between the gate frame and the wall itself, it is best to have the wall perfectly "touch" the gate frame. This is almost impossible to achieve on both sides of the gate freehand. So the solution is to have the walls clip into the gate frame a little bit...then there is no gap. Not all versions of the wall pieces will clip into the gate frame, so... place the walls first, then come back and place the gate frame because it is known that the gate frame WILL clip.

It is pure hell to have spent the resources to place a behemoth gate frame and gate, and only then find out that your wall pieces won't fit next to it. Time to demolish the gate........

What do you mean by walls?
So basically, if you place the behemoth gates and gateways incorrectly there will be a gap in between them through which something can shoot through? And by clip you mean place them so they slightly interlock in each other? (If so I need to start doing that I messed up on my dino gates and there were small gaps I had to patch)

Another question can those dinos in question fit through giant hatch? Like make an entrance to the pen on the floor and ramps/sloped stuff.

Bump- I really need an answer ASAP
unstopaBULL Mar 10, 2017 @ 4:30am
I was asking about what they meant by walls clipping/not clipping or whatever. The question about the Rex, Mammoth, and Spino have been answered, and I'm thankful to you guys. I highly doubt I could make a 40 x 40 pen considering I'm a one man team (Although i may get two other members). The server is 3x gather. What about 2 behemoth gates and maybe 8 stone dino gates on each side along with the 2 behemoths on opposite sides. So the dimensions would be 1 behemoth x 8 stone dino and then 8 stone dinos for the width. Sound good?

Oh by 40 x 40 did you mean, stone walls instead of stone gates? I thought you meant gates for a second, my bad lol.
