Brachiosaurus and giant red beacon question

Hello, can you tame Brachiosaurus? How hard is it to kill them with a spear? I'm level 15 and they're usually level 4~9.

Also, there are many beacons like this one scattered around the map, but this one was the one closest to me so I decided to explore it a little bit, but once I got there I got killed by a few giant insects and dilos.

The brontos are pretty hard to kill with a spear at level 15, they hit pretty hard and have a huge area effect attack. If you get a height advantage (standing on a cliff, etc.) you can throw spears or shoot arrows until it's dead, but it may take a while.

The big beacon you were looking at was one of the three Obelisks. They are used to transfer your character, dinos, and items to other servers, and they open portals to the bosses once you have the proper tribute.

Edit: the smaller sauropod, the Diplodocus, is extremely easy to kill. They do 0 damage. They do have quite a bit of knockback though, so don't let them push you off cliffs.

Couldn't really get their name since I didn't get too close to them, but after a small google search their actual name is brontosaurus http://ark.gamepedia.com/Brontosaurus

Brontos are passive unless attacked, so you can run right underneath them without fear of death. Just be aware if they're fighting something, because their tail swing will hit you from some way away and do massive damage.
