I had similar issues. My taned ichty didn't eat even if his food dropped more than 500 points and a carbonemys i tamed didn't eat kibble until her food dropped by more than 200.

from the way i've heard other people talking 'ANY' baby being raised is very likely to not eat how they used to. I've heard stories dating back to the time during the first of the last 4 patches in the past day or so, that baby rex and baby trike both had to be remotely fed in each one of their inventories.

I also was told the amount of food required during baby phase was increased significantly as well, though this could just stem from remote use allowing an infinite value of any resource to be used beyond the current max food of the baby and that time within its baby phase. So the person could have been over feeding if they were in a rush to feed others also.

I myself have not raised any babies for 4 or 5 days so my experiences with the issue are not my own, but thought I'd at least share that you are very much not alone. If there was a method that I felt confidently about for reporting such things to the dev team I would try to send you a link, but the last few months have proved that even bug reports get pushed to the bottom of the todo list, especially when new server types or game modes are being released.

I have 9 baby rexes (juvenile now) and one adolescent quetz and they're all eating like they should. The babies on our server are all eating like they did pre-patch, but we have lowered the food consumption on them, so I don't know if that might mask a potential issue.

Baby Ovis died with Mejoberries in its inventory after 2h (Playing on Official PVE). The Baby seems to eat in bursts. So it's food value drops a lot while HP is going up, and then it eats a few berries at once getting its food up and it's HP down again. At some point the HP drop will be so big that it basically kills itself while eating.
Seems to be related to these timer-optimizations the devs did in recent patches. I don't think thats intended to make breeding harder, is it?

I'll echo this. Just hatched a baby Troodon, and it just wouldn't eat. Died shortly after hatching, despite having meat in its inventory. I'm on an unofficial server, so I figured it was something to do with the increased maturation rates we have. Apparently not, if it's happening on official servers, too. These 'timer optimizations' seem to have borked more than just harvesting. Can't wait to see what else it's broken...

Same they starved with food on, but other babys are fine

I asked around on my server. Seems some animals can overcome the delay in eating, while others can't. I'm basically going to just sit on my fertilized eggs until I can find a solution, or hear of one.

Force feed the babies.

Poor babies. ;_;
I'll try that tomorrow, when I have time to hatch another egg.

troodon are very low in food. when you got a baby it starts with a 10% value (20% juvenile). with 100 max food its just 10. 1 raw meat is 50 food so it will not eat untill its up to 50. you have to force feed. ))

but 1700hp it shouldve ate fine without dyin
also wtf why 350 food on 150devs? that is so lame makes it troodon need full food stats to live

This is a recent bug to do with the timer changes that the devs have been fiddling with.

I've done a fair bit of testing of the issue and here's what I can tell you.

All dinos will sometimes just stop eating for a short period of time.

Low level or low food stat babies will suffer because of this.

Any baby hatched or born with less that 200 food stat to start with will have issues.

When the baby stops eating it's food will drop by a couple of hundred before it starts eating again. This is ok for high food stat babies such as trex or allo but not good for all the low stat babies such as troodon and ovis.

They will die if left alone, so you need to force feed them when they stop eating until juvenile. Even at juvenile some really low level stuff will have issues.

Tested with Troodon, Ovis, Dimorphodon, Allosaurus, and Rex.

Lost two troodon babies. Force fed the third until juvenile, it died when I went to get more meat. Seems you have to force feed until they are even older.

Are people still having this issue? I'll update my server notes if it is. I don't know too may people breeding Troodons (PVP server, but no raiding so they are kind of pointless) on my server, but it's good info.

Raw Fish is the best answer.
