Therizinosaurus...
Okay so I play on a private server and after the latest update these guys are EVERYWHERE!!! Beaches included. I don't know if this was intended but they make starting out HELL. My tribe keeps getting butt whooped by these guys early on and being in the swamp is even less safe more than ever. We finally got to a suitable location for a better base cutting through swamp (not my decision, I suggested a safer spot). But we still see them dotted out on the plains where we are. So my question is will their spawining get nerfed some in the future?

I don't get why people think these guys are so hard to avoid, they agrro range isen't that of a giga or a carno.

They hit really hard though because of their dps, aoe, AND venomous bite! They can even take down a rex half the time! Es no bueno...

First I've heard of a venomous bite.
But hey. They have fairly low torpor so if you can manage to knock one down they're great tames.

Don't think they have a venomous bite, it might be a headbutt attack that deals torp. I just knocked out a level 108 female after she almost killed me, they REALLY hurt but they're amazing gatherers. XD

Aside from the overspawn, they're very well balanced. Saw a lvl 16 rex take on a lvl 16 theri in the wild the other day, it was a very close fight, and though the theri won in the end, it was very bloody and down to a sliver of health. And the rex had been fighting a couple of raptors beforehand so may not have been at full health when the battle started.

I do agree that they need to be more rare, about the same scarcity as a rex (or maybe just a little more common, given they don't agro on sight, only when you invade their space). But their power level is just right imo.

There are definitely a LOT. Usually I see three at most, but frommy base last night I saw nine just walking around in different directions.

Doesn't work on another persons server or on an official. That isn't always the answer.

True, but this guy said in the OP he was playing on a private server, so I figured I'd put it up for him to use if he has the access to do so, or to suggest to the server owner if he doesn't. Also, it's there for others who are in different situations to see, so they can make use of it too if they like.

Seriously though, why the hell are they so common? That's the only real issue with them. Their aggro range is fairly small and they're not THAT hard to avoid, but feathers make for shockingly good camouflage (it breaks up the outline a bit and matches the texture of foliage better) and, if you have one wandering around near your base, you never know when it's suddenly going to come crashing through a wall after aggroing on you or, worse, a tame, through it. Heck, that's if you're far enough to have a wall yet; I've been swarmed by these bastards before I've even managed to get a small base set up, never mind a perimeter fence or spike wall!

And yet, it still is a relevant topic... these things are not only common, but as deadly as a Rex. And they line to bunch up and tear you down in groups.

to be honest i think main issue with them is fact nothing seems to agro on them so they are always at full health also might contribute to reason you see so many of them

I mean, yeah, but that doesn't make them any less annoying, considering that when they get to an up to wood base, they really ruin the owners day.
