Ascension is a wipe?

I've been seeing some videos about the new volcano cave and I just realised that if you pass the cave you lose all your staff, can someone tell me ir you lose your tribe too?

You just lose the stuff you took into the cave and you gain exstra levels past 100.

Just make sure you upload your character before you enter so you keep all of your stuff.
Little tip I just figured out. Use the tek cloning chamber to clone the animals you want to use in the cave. So that way, when you enter the cave, you only lose your clones and will still have your original creatures back home! :)

How do you enter the cave with a charater that was uploaded ?

I'm pretty sure you just Upload your character on one of the obelisks. I'm not entirely sure as I didn't do it myself. I watched Anthomnia do it on his video and he said he's glad he did upload his character

Thats... not how it works.

You do not restart from zero. You carry on from the level you were at.Any items or dinos you brought in with you are lost. Everything outside is still there.

Uploading to an obelisk is for transferring servers.

I just watched thickfreedoms video after Anthomnia's and he had to go all the way back to level one. He didn't have an option to go back to his original level. Sorry, I thought that's how it worked

Hm...well, originally from a post from 2015/16 WC said that ascension would reset your level. But, I have yet to try it out myself. So, they might have changed it.

im pretty sure he just made a new character and no-clipped into the cave or something. its unreliable to use it as a source because its a skit

That's honestly not a very good tip since it costs infinite amounts of Element to clone an army of 50 dinos(a single one beyond 300 is +380 Element).
The cave isn't that hard, since the creatures in there are placeholders until the next Tek cave update so using scrap creatures from breeding projects will do fine. Until you need to do the Hard version ofc.

None of them do their research when making their videos. You start at the exact same level as you "Ascend" with. And you don't even lose all your gear anymore. Just your creatures. They must've pressed spawn as new survivor or something, that's not how you do it.

Ok can some one at least tell me if u lose all ur tames u have even its its on single player, is ascending worth it and will i have to upload my character 1st before tackling this dgn?

Well, I'm not sure if its worth it, but from the sounds of things, you lose only the tames you bring with you, once you are out and naked, you can return to your base and the tames you left behind.

I tested it in Singleplayer at level 100, it raises your level cap based on what challenge level the cave was set at.

It's BS that any tames you bring with you just get deleted. Seriously? All that hard work, and not only can we not take them with us to help in the final battle, they get deleted as well?

I knew there was a reason I hate Wildcard. Love ARK, hate Wildcard.
