Whats the best tank pet you can get?

Trike can be very tanky when needed. Get a good quality saddle on it and it can last for quite a while.

This, as I always see you need a couple of perfect tamed rexes to breed the Rexes you need to tank and do the bosses.

But there are good other tanks as well just not a lot of dmg on them though, looking at bronto/Quetz though those things are large and slow. If you are looking for something a bit smaller and better handling I would say look at the turtles.

Any pet can be tanky. Tanky=HP, so pump HP in anything and you'll have a tank, for the most part. But this also depends on what you are trying to tank. A trike can tank a dilo no problem.

With that said, the dino that starts with the most HP has a leg up on all other dinos for tankability, so, giga wins.

It's all perspective.

Turtle, Diplo, or Bronto so long as it's high lvl and you pump everything into health and weight...

Mods or no Mods?

For mods, its the Dragons of "Elite Dragons+" Mod. The modder don't give a .... on bugfixing/reports and therefore you can reach 130 000 health if you have mated this dragons.

For vanilla i would say its the Turtle. (If you wanna empty turrets). Prepare a few such Turtles and throw it in the base of your enemies ^^.
Turtles are easily/fast breedable, therefore i think its the best for it.
Its not the strongest...but the easiest to breed and it needs not much space in your base.

Or a paracer, depending on what you're doing.

The pachyrhino might even be better than a turtle because it has x0.15 headshot damage, and the head is what's going to be taking all of the hits.

Probably because it isn't a permanent tame and not sure if you can knock it down solo ;)

All of the above dinos are good but if you really want to check make sure to test the dino's stats on dododex before and after tame to make sure you don't have too many wasted stat point and you arne't below average in HP

if you want something to soak up damage in pvp, like vs miniguns, a turtle will do in most cases, easy to replace.

But if your looking for something for ground combat vs wildlife then youll want something that does a decent ammount of damage, id probibly rank things in this order based on useability on the ground and health

1. Giga
2. Rock elemental
3. Therizino
4. Paracer --- i put this in here because they are great tanks, they just dont harvest meat.
5. Rex
6. Spino
7. Bear
8. Allo
