Tips to tame Hyena?

The are the most difficult passive tame ever! I tried just following it around, but it would randomly spook and run away.
When it didn't run away its effectiveness would drop randomly during the 30 seconds you wait to pet.
When i build a pen to hold it, it climbed over my walls or became super aggro.

I ended up dying to an alpha rex that spawned in the area, freaking thing moves all over... so please... any tips

Yep, they are indeed problematic. I flew one out to Herbi Island and tamed it there.

For best results wear a Ghillie, Crouch and have them in a wooden 4x4 pen. What i did was actually make 3 4x4 pens connected in an L shape with Dino doors separating them. Regular doors on the outside connecting to ea pen. Drop them in and pet away.

When I tamed mine they got stuck and couldn't move lol

Their spook range is massively reduced when a pack leader is nearby so bring two in like a 1x1x3 taming pen with doorframes and separate them by at least 3 or 4 tiles

Whilst I haven't tested it enough, I tamed one just by following it when crouched. No Ghillie or relocating either, it simply didn't run away from me. All I can say is to try and tame one in an area you know will be safe for a while.

I have My lv 290 giga usually follow me around, i keep her at distance incase theres a alpha rex or norm rex over lv 20, since my ascendant sword can demolish all other things. So far no luck using Ghillie and bug to get the stupid things to tame.

My Idea is Make a Pen and chuck the one you want in it, then repeat for the other gender. have ghillie and bug while inside the pen.. if you can make the pen as small as possible so it has no choice..

Also if your super super lucky you can find a hyena stuck between palm tree like things, if you build pen around multiple of those it might help, since you cant bola them to tame. Some ppl say use YuTyrannis's Fear but the fear makes them run away from u so it would annoy me.

could also see if horse and a lasso may work

not worth taming em tbh, they ignore server tame rates, I don't know why the devs did that, horrible mechanic, ignoring server rates like that
