Saving my campfire for later?

So I had my campfire going, cooking up some meat. But when I was finished, my only options were for the campfire's inventory. Or to demolish it.
(I thought I briefly saw a E: remove command, but ever afterwards, it was just the E: inventory one for the campfire, no matter how much I moved around it...)

Is there no way to pick it back up and put it back in my main inventory or my hot bar? Annoying if I have to craft a new campfire every time I need one...


NOTE: I play single player (If that matters).

Almost all vanilla items are like that, they can't be picked up and have to be recrafted instead.

If you're just playing solo, perhaps look into getting the Structures Plus mod. It adds different versions of all the construction items in the game, but with the abillity to pick them up and replace them at will, and it fixes a lot of other issues with Ark's building system too. And yes, it does have a campfire that can be picked up.

Once you put it down, it's there for good. You can put the fire out and restart it as many times as you want, as long as you have flammable materials. But there is no picking it up. But it doesn't take hardly anything to make them, so it doesn't really matter. They are disposable.

Hmm, okay! Thanks for clarifying! I kind of figured that, but just wanted to be sure. Since there was that brief moment I thought I had seen "move" as an interaction for it. Must be my eyes playing tricks.

They might go and redo all the old stuff, and make them able to be picked-up. I noticed a lot of the old structures like the standing torch can't be picked up

Until then, I will just spread out my campfires so I can use them around different places.
