However vanilla creatures' spawns can be increased/reduced with the SpawnWeightMultiplier ini setting in the Game.ini file.
DinoSpawnWeightMultipliers=(DinoNameTag=<tag>[,SpawnWeightMultiplier=<factor>][,OverrideSpawnLimitPercentage=<override>][,SpawnLimitPercentage=<limit>])
Check the entry for it on this wiki page for an explanation how it works:
http://ark.gamepedia.com/Server_Configuration
You would need the dino name tag in order to use it though, and again, the classic flyers mod probably remaps the ichthyornis to a different entry so the vanilla tag wouldn't work. You'd need to ask the mod dev for the tag for their version of the bird.
The mod has an admintool to cull down spawns from things that spawn to much.
But i dont know if it works only for flyers.
to check how many are on map hit tab 2 times to open big console;
cheat getallstate Ichthyornis_Character_BP_C
to change any dino spawn up or down use dino name tag from http://ark.gamepedia.com/Creature_IDs
NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="Pegomastax_Character_BP_C",ToClassName="Compy_Character_BP_C")
NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="Eel_Character_BP_C",ToClassName="Angler_Character_BP_C")
NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="Ichthyornis_Character_BP_C",ToClassName="Dimorph_Character_BP_C")
pego, eel and ich all gone entirely.
Since then i'v rewritten basicly the whole game for my co-op friends xD
dinos tamed/wild, spawns, items, lvls, engrams, breeding,farming, bosses ect ect ect.
The pve side is far harder without madness grind and without impossible bosses.
I played without them for a while.
But now they dont bother me anymore, dont know why^^
A buddy said they only go after you if you get to near and have something in your hand like tools.
Cant say if its true or not, im not living at the beach right now^^
yea had the same problems with people on my server too. First they complained about those dinos, after removing them others complaint we need the kibble from those dinos.
I put them back on and even the people who where annoyed by them can now live with them in peace^^ just have to leave them alone.
Or know what to do so they leave you alone.
Pego for example, i allways have a torch in my last slot or the demo gun from the s+ mod.
So they only steal those and i can let them run and have a nice day.
The Ichthys leave me completly alone for no known reason, since my buddy told me the story with shiny stuff in your hands they dont bother me anymore.
Well and the eels, dont think they are a problem at all. Just get a Basilo.
Thats what a lot of people forget about this game, for most annoying things there is
something to counter it. Just have to figure it out:) Thats part of a SURVIVAL Game^^
Now i only run S+ Mod and the rest is vanilla, rates and stuff only change when the officials
have event too.
And i like the vanilla feeling alot with some quality of live improvements from s+.
first one steals some mejoberry but second one took 3 death worm horns and third one took me almost 650% longneck......was mad like hell :)
After that encounter i removed them from game.
They are still annoying, i give you that.
But each their own. i think they belong in the game and i only find them annoying in early game.
But yea, if you aggro 2 or 3 of them the last slot stuff does not work, or you have to be quick and fill your last slot fast^^
And i allready lost 1 slot to the stupid troodons at night so one more or less i dont care^^
I hate the troodons more than anything, but even they are easy if you allways have some
stimulant ready.
But i get that beeing an admin is not easy^^ Had so many Servers over the years for survival games and there are allways players complaining that they want things faster, easier, more loot more this.
The hard part as an admin is to find the balance and dont change everything on every cry.
Like i said, each their own:)
pegos come in groups so you will always lose alot more then just a torch,
Ichys are annoying as everyones always carrying tools on the beach for all early/mid game even some of end game,
eels are too broken to a point where they only have 2 counters 1 a basi, 2 an entire army of friends with crossbows/tek rifles shooting at them from a distance.
My server kibble prices were changed to remove eggs from the ingrediant list so no one cares if all 3 super annoying dinos are removed.
Kibble prices were made into a more rpg style cost.
There is 1 thing everyone who plays agreed with they want the game harder but fair and those 3 dinos were simplely not fair i mean seriously losing a tek rifle to a pego, a lvl 300 mosa to 2 eels and mastercraft pickaxes to ichys.
Tho funny enough they had me add deathworms to carno island, rock golems to mining areas, thorn dragons to beachs, mantises to swamps while buffing wild raptors,trexs,troodons,bugs,thorn dragons,mantises ect tho the giga was nerfed so it's wild versions only 30% stronger then a enhanced trex.
Tho they also requested all tamed dinos be 10% weaker to their wild versions as a sort of "drug overdose" thing.
In the end the games feeling far more balanced towards a small group of people doing pve then large amounts of people doing pvp.
