How much Veggie cake does an Achatina eat per day?

I usually just throw a stack of 5 into it once a week. Easy paste collection.

They don't eat much at all you should only craft 2 cakes per if perhaps food drops by half as the cakes expire rapidly

So if I put in a feeding trough with veggie cakes will the other herbivores eat them or will only the snails?

I only level food on the 3 I have and I feed them about every 2 weeks.

They are well worth having.

Yeah, don't put cakes in a trough, you'll just be wasting them. Either something else will eat them or they'll go bad before the snails eat them. Unless you're planning on using a snail as an organic polymer backpack up north, in which case you shouldn't be worrying about using it for paste generation, then food is all you should worry about levelling up so that you don't have to feed them frequently. Then just figure out how often you want to feed them, how many cakes you need to top them off, make the cakes as needed, and drop the appropriate amount into their inventory to chomp on.

They require 1-2 cake every week or so, not much more than that really.

I feed my 10 snails like once a month, give them 10 cakes each and they seem to be fine, thanks to them I don't have to get mad over the noobs that build near beaver spawns or leave the wood and I have vaults full of paste, they are 100% worth it!!!

Agree with the other comments, pump food stat and you only have to make a batch of cakes once every few weeks.

^this. Some guy on our server states, that he feeds his snails only once or so per month, as he only leveled food on them.
