Earth Eater
I need to kill 10 of those for some random Chocolina quest. Fun!

You need to kill 30 (+1) of them for Last One Standing. More fun!

I actually had to escape the first one I found minutes ago. Felt like ten minutes and I had only dropped its HP to 80%...

if you get the lesbian aussie from that same map. they are a cinch to kill. just follow the story until you get her. then finish farming that zone.

With Counterblow you can avoid all their annoying special attacks.

Well you could just kill one of them for that.

Pretty sure you cant evade all of them. I guess I'll have to try that sometimes. Would be a lol moment to find out I died against their specials all the time for nothing. (evade was standard a part of my schemas) You can out range them tho.

These things have some kind of weakness right? Or are they intentionally taking forever to be killed.

They are very tough, but they are weak to Aero and Thunder, I believe. Also, after they've been staggered once or twice (you'll know when because you'll see the stagger wave appear), using a spear weapon + Beat Down (for jump) with that accessory that adds an extra finisher staggers them again very quickly, leaving them open for massive damage via Heavy Slash.

I managed to stagger them relatively quick with Elementa, Whirlwind Kick and Caius's sword. Took me a little while to get used to it, but I'd say the secret is being aggressive. And IIRC, Libra says they're more vulnerable to wind and especially after a bite/swallow attack.

I tried to fight one early game, did not even scratch it :(

Earth Eater is one of the Omega's I couldn't kill in the Lost Dungeon, along with Dreadnaught (although dreadnaught was because of being too lazy to equip the right stuff). They are far stronger than most other monsters in the game other than the super bosses especially in chaos or omega forms. I mean you're basically trying to kill a giant mountian with a sword, so I get it, but it really feels exponentially more difficult to fight an Earth Eater over most other monsters.

Life gets easier once you recruit Fang as a group member! She is easy on the eyes too lol

I've seen a lot of places suggest keeping Fang around for Aeronite as well, it's really a damn shame she vanishes once you finish the story line. You get to keep AoV the whole game so why did they cheap out on her addition to the party? But yes, Fang makes everything easier and she's easy on the eyes.

is there some memory hack to force fang in the party?

Dreadnaught is super easy once you realise something big:

You can destroy each of its arms. Doing this will disable that arms attacks, and instantly stagger it. If you go for the arms right away the fight (even the omega version) becomes very easy.

Oh neat, but how do you do that? Just move around to the side?
