Normal and easy difficulty, I am confused...
My question is: do they have the same gil and drop from monsters?

http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Difficulty
wikia from this page claims that they have the same gil modifier, but on normal difficulty monsters drop uncommon items? WTH are these uncommon items that drop on normal but no on easy?

And then I read a guide claims that normal and easy have the same drops, but on normal you have more gil from monster.

However, after I tried both difficulties, I have not yet found any difference in gil and drops on normal and easy...

So basically there is no pros to do a normal run other than to challenge yourself?

Well, normal have always been about the challenge, I daresay in every game that offers set difficulty levels. In most other games, easy is meant for people who want to just enjoy the story, while normal is meant to bring in some challenge to the mix. Hard, when offered, is meant to be just about the challenge.

In hard monsters will drop abilities in higher levels than normal and they also get to drop items only available on that difficulty. I think you'll notice a difference starting on the 7th day since that's when monsters become more aggressive and drop more things.

Easy also gives no penalty when you escape a battle, while normal does. I think (not sure at all) that monsters will also reward more Eradia compared to normal. I don't remember reading anything about their stats and wikia marks the HP of bosses only on normal and hard.

Do you know of any items that drop on normal but not on easy? Hard mode has all the extra stuff. Other than the challenge, does normal mode have something that easy mode does not?

the higher the difficulty the higher the payout. The items they drop also change when you stick the game on hard

They do, they give twice as much (so a big one like Earth Eater gives 4 EP on Easy, 2 on Normal and 1 on Hard).

Eradia is the points from doing quest, it's different from EP. I am just wondering if normal and easy mode have exactly the same drop tables and gil modifier

Well I wasn't replying to you, but anyway, I know they have the same drops, not sure about the gil, though.

I don't, sorry :/ Never played on easy.

Simple answer is yes the tables are different. Easy to figure out... start a new game and kill a furball on easy - reset on normal and kill a furball..... they are literally everywhere early game so you don't even need NG+.

On the first day they're most likely to drop the same item for both difficulties, that one we use for the quest. I can tell as that's most of what I got through two cycles of normal and that was really the only thing. Here and there I'd get a very low ability, but most commonly just the quest item.

They do. There is no difference in item drop rate/quantity/gil at all between easy and normal. Drops and modifiers change depending on day or if you playing on Hard only. Check this for detailed info:

Easy and Normal have the same drop table, correct?
Leaf Dec 26, 2015 @ 12:42pm
Yes.

Eradia is the points from doing quest, it's different from EP. I am just wondering if normal and easy mode have exactly the same drop tables and gil modifier
EP= Eradia Points.
