1.4 Unblanced
I’ve started a new game 3–4 times, and Tunisia and Hungary are extremely powerful. Both nations are tearing Italy and Europe apart. Tunisia, with its 5 provinces, easily defeats the Mamluks on its own. There are a lot of rebellions. Countries are constantly plunging into civil war. The Ottomans, on the other hand, are practically nonexistent in the game. The same goes for France.

I think there is fair amount of randomness in 1.4 beta.
-Ottos are doing fine in my games
-I would not call Tunis overpowered, it had some provinces in Sicily but then Naples steamrolled everyone
-in one of my runs Hungary got crushed, in next they conquered everyone
-In one run Castile formed Spain by conquering Aragon, then pushed into France, in next run it can not even get rid of Granada

Keep in mind, I do have about 9 mods that could affect balance (for example reducing number of levies).

It's caused by mods because it was confirmed on the Paradox forum that Tunisia is bugged. I experienced the same issue in all four saves.
France crumbles every game from the English and internal wars for Independence. Are the devs intentionally nuking France just to be different than EU4? The same goes for the Ottomans. It feels like they want the strong nations from EU4 to not be strong anymore just to get a new experience. I would rather an OP France and Ottos like EU4 than an irrelevant France and Ottos.
Well, France starts with 30 subjects, of course these are going to desire independence. In earlier version France had subjects that never rebeled and it caused one big blue blob marching over whole Europe.

Ottomans have different problem, their majority of pops are wrong culture and religion which causes endless revolts. Devs have said this will be looked at.

This is my second run on the beta.

France has taken the top spot in both runs. In my first one, the Ottomans struggled but still held Anatolia and the Balkans by the end. In this current run, they’ve admittedly just lost the Byzantium region following a crusade, but they did manage to retake almost all of Anatolia from Egypt, which is pretty impressive.

We should probably wait a few weeks to see how things play out, but personally, I feel there’s more randomness involved now—which isn't a bad thing.

In this game, Tunis isn't doing much, and Portugal managed to defeat Castile. Naples clearly hasn't steamrolled Italy; in fact, they're actually struggling. If I hadn't allied with Bohemia, they would have been completely crushed. In my 1,200 hours of playtime, I’ve never seen Georgia perform this well. Kyiv hasn't dominated the region.

It’s quite enjoyable.
I did 3-4 starts with Poland and I have constant rebellions, succession challenges etc. Bohemia and Hungary have 4x higher tax base than me in 1470 and just roll over the whole central and eastern Europe. Development is so slow and tedious now and market is still a mystery for my small brain.

I have similar experience as Poland, but in my case Bohemia allied with every major HRE country and rolled over both me and Hungary by 1400. With a much higher tax base and levies counting around 100k by their side vs. me and allies fielding around 40-50k total. On top of that, battles are generating much more casualties than before, and I can't clutch it with professional cavalry force like in previous versions. And Naples is dominating Balkans in my game. Destroying everything in Greace and taking Bosnia and Croatia from Hungary.

Plus AI is declaring wars on me every time I'm trying to expand eastward. I started war with Kyiev, and next month I had Bohemia attacking me from the southwest. Next time I tried attacking one of the smaller nations there, and at the same moment Branderburg attacked me, calling Bohemia into war. I just gave up on this game. Paradox needs years to cook a stable and fun version of this game if it will not end like Imperator.
I have had no luck with Poland or Lithuania yet. Even when allied to Hungary and expanding through Teuton lands or into Kiyv, Bohemia still dominates every time.
