Some wonders for a new player

Hello everyone. Recently picked this up after being a long time EUIII and EUIV player I've heard mixed things about the game but figured I'd give it an honest shot myself.

I like some of the new changes and find some of the others a little overwhelming. Does anyone have any mods they could recommend to simplify things a bit to make it a little easier for my EUIV brained self to grapple with things.

I've seen that a lot of things can be automated but I'm not quite sure how useful that would be depending.
