"Battle for the strait" is just annoying
The "Battle for the strait" situation is just annoying as castille. It take 100 years to get to -100 influence to vassalize Granada, but what's more likely is that you somehow loose Granada as a tributary locking you permanently out of winning the situation. Now you have to wait for a bazillion years until you can conquer them.
Just let me conquer Granada if I loose them. Stop forcing me to sit on my ass doing nothing and loosing one cabinetmember for an eternity.

I agree, not enjoying the Castile part at all.
I rather have not the DLC or dont play in Iberia than playaing with that situation
Maybe its better for Morocco or Granada?
It is only slowing everything down and occupying one of your cabinet members. It is quicker to cancel tributary, conquer and release them as a vassal than to wait for -100 influence. I'm not sure if golden era modifiers are worth it. Yet to see.

That's what Pete Hegseth said..
Yes golden era modifiers justify going through the Battle for the strait.
I don't want to spoiler, but if you play your cards right the modifiers are really nice and useful even late game.
For those interested:
There is instant colonisation, a building for +20 colony loyalty, a really nice cb an additional governor and some more buffs
