Not buying the dlc and giving up on the game

1.4 is horrendous. It will become very clear that there is no player base for the game as it exists. 1.3 was a massive step in the right direction. They could have just focused on bugs and performance for 1.4 along with dlc content. Instead they reconceptualized the entire game and put hard limitations on what the player can do and when the player can do it.

I do not understand what the developers are thinking and have no faith that the game will improve. Indeed, it appears that the devs are more interested in not 'conceding' to the players. 1.4 doubles down on every issue the player base has critiqued.

With political influence and daily ticks now in the game, I see no point to play EU5 over EU4. The vision for EU5 was extremely compelling for me. And I have enjoyed building my economy and managing my empire throughout 1.3 and at points of 1.1. I tried to get back into EU4 but couldn't because the vision behind EU5 is more compelling for me than the vision behind EU4 even if EU5 still needs a ton of work.

After the 1.4 changes, I don't have a single good reason to stick with EU5 over EU4.
