Will it revert to an hourly settlement model?
I’ll probably wait until the hourly settlement system is restored before I start playing this game again.

No, hourly ticks were removed in 1.4.
I'm rly wondering how many players actually used the hourly tick. I've never used it myself, because doing anything at such a slow speed is just a pain in the ass. I still managed to win wars without it.

I also get that the hourly tick may have encouraged a certain playstyle that they simply don't want to support anymore, or maybe can't balance properly. And maybe the percentage of players who actually used it was just really small.

Are you kidding me?
The EU5 has used hourly settlement from the very moment it was launched.
Are you just trying to be funny?
it was better for immersion: battles didn't last for weeks, but for hours and maybe for couple of days, like they actually did

you didn't have to pause to do things, but could play at the slowest speed with no stress and hurry. If I wanted a fast micro and macro, I'd play Starcraft
Wars now are too long. When you have dozen of colonies there is always a war somewhere and that blocks interactions with vassals etc. I hate it. Now I need to wait for months to cede provinces to vassals etc where in 1.3 there was mostly peace and war was something special - worth to slow down the pace.
You might want to read that again. I said **I've never used it myself**, not that EU5 never had hourly ticks.

Alright, I’ll play it next year instead—let’s wait until they figure out how to properly refine the current system.

Time to go back to playing CK3; putting EU5 on hold for now.

I’ve changed my review to a negative one. I’m opting out now—have fun, everyone. Goodbye.
eu5 was developed with daily ticks until it was changed before launch to hourly lol

this is them just reverting a change back to their original vision
what a strange thing to have strong opinions about
