Working CK3toEU5 converter.
I've put together a working build of a CK3 to EU5 save converter. It's an unofficial fork of Paradox Game Converters' CK3toEU5 project, which is still in development. Their team built the foundation: reading CK3 saves and mapping CK3's provinces onto EU5's. I built the EU5 side on top of it, plus a new launcher. The official project doesn't accept AI, so this is a separate fork rather than a contribution to theirs.

I'll be updating this converter in the future.

What converts
  • Countries: every independent CK3 realm becomes an EU5 country, keeping its CK3 name
  • Borders: each country holds the land its realm held in CK3
  • Capitals: carried over from each realm's capital county
  • Rank: empire, kingdom, duchy, or county, from the realm's highest title
  • Government type: feudal and clan become monarchy, tribal becomes tribe; theocracies and republics stay as they are
  • Rulers: each country's ruler carries over by name, aged so they're the right age in 1337
  • Vassals: dukes and above become subjects of their liege; counts stay part of their liege's country
  • Religion: each area's main faith comes from its CK3 county; EU5's own religious minorities are kept
  • Culture: each area's main culture comes from CK3 wherever your campaign changed it. Cultures EU5 doesn't have, including hybrid and divergent cultures your campaign created, are added to EU5
  • Country religion and culture: taken from the people who actually live there
  • Development: well-developed CK3 land becomes well-developed EU5 land
  • Technology level: based on each country's CK3 development
  • The rest of the world: land CK3 doesn't cover, such as the Americas, keeps EU5's normal countries

What doesn't convert (yet)
  • Wars: everyone starts at peace
  • Alliances, truces and relations between countries
  • Heirs, spouses, children and dynasties: only the ruler comes over
  • Other characters: courtiers, councillors and commanders
  • Flags: most converted countries have no flag
  • Tributaries
  • Counts as separate countries: they're absorbed into their liege
  • Armies, navies and money
  • Buildings and holdings
  • Laws, traditions and innovations, apart from the technology level
  • Population sizes: EU5 keeps its own population numbers
  • Custom faiths: they may fall back to EU5's local religion
  • Content from CK3 mods
  • Other languages: country names are only in English, so if you play EU5 in another language they may show up as raw names

Note to the Paradox Game Converters team: big thanks for the groundwork.

Nice!

Of course, the problem is that by the time you're done with your CK3 game you're far and away the dominant power on Earth, so you'll start the EU5 game pretty much unchallenged.

Like in my case, when they had the CK2 to EU4 converter, and the only thing I had to do as the Roman Empire was colonize America...lol
Are flags from all the countries randomized? If a create portugal with a custom religion, will portugal have the flag that is in vanilla eu5 or a randomized flag? Also, lets say if portugal has custom hindu faith, will it remain hindu or becom christian?
My map shows the whole map undiscovered (besides some but not even all of my territories'
