Must have mods?
Been playing Ghost of Tsushima and kinda starting to get a hankering to play this again. Are there any mods I should get? I'll consider anything including something like the Radious or Darth mods.

I don't use Radious/Darthmod because I feel like they only make the game more "extreme" and don't add anything useful that expands the player's experience. I feel like the base game is already just about perfectly balanced. Previous TW games like Napoleon have benefitted more from Darthmod and Radious because they changed more things about the game, added more effects, and made the game more intense rather than more frustrating.

Anyway I know you aren't asking for quality of life mods, but I'm going to list some that I use. I've played the game often enough without them to know that the things they fix are features that are annoying and frustrating rather than challenging. Making them go away makes the game more enjoyable without making it any easier.

- clear weather. I refuse to play foggy maps where the AI can see everything but I can't.

- Otomo demo mod. This lets you destroy leased land which Otomo spams everywhere. This is lame because if the player built leased land their honor would plummet and they'd have rebellions everywhere, but the AI is allowed to get away with it.

- ninjafix. Makes the Hattori and Tokugawa kisho ninjas do what they're supposed to so they aren't broken.

- no movement penalties. This means you can't get -10% movement range from "likes his food" or whatever. I put up with this for a long time and tried to move my generals around and kept them out of sake dens, but the game will still screw you over randomly and give your generals these movement penalties for no apparent reason. Not having to worry about it is really nice.

Hey what's that weather mod and does it just remove fog? Sometimes rain can be useful!

Darth made stuff up to make himself seem more interesting. Inventing flags to be used in his self-proclaimed 'AI improving' formations and other nonsense. Seeing a user name himself Dath Vader really makes me believe he is going to reinvent the wheel. Kudos for the efforts he made, if you like the game and feel upset how morale works you may actually really like his mod.

Want a really kewl mod, learn to make it yourself. Best mod you will ever play is the one you make yourself.

Best MOD I've ever played. I really couldn't play any other games after I tried this one. It already comes with excellent Darthmod, then the creator makes incredible changes in the battles, making them much, much much better, I loved it, I highly recommend it ...

Mods like Darthmod are just compilations you can always pick and mix. If you want a mod that can massively change the dynamics of a campaign without causing bugs then aggressive shogunate makes for some wacky campaigns, it basically lets the Ashikage Shogunate attack and conquer territory outside of Kyoto, creates some crazy campaigns.

There are also a few mods that increase the number of provinces but I find they can cause bugs at times, particularly bugs that trap armies in a cities radius unable to move or attack the city.

There are also mods that add historical clan colours & add more cosmetic difference between each clans ashigaru and samurai units.

Here's what you can search for in the Steam Workshop for the QOL mods I referenced. Just search for what's in the quotation marks below:

clear battle maps:

"no weather rain snow fog"

or

"clear dry weather"

(I prefer "no weather rain snow fog" because you always get a clear battle map, I seem to remember that "clear dry weather" still gives you foggy maps quite often)

get rid of penalties from eye for the ladies or likes his food etc:

Shogun 2: "no trait movement penalty"

FOTS: "remove 'eye for the ladies'"

ninjafix: "Hattori & Tokugawa Kisho Ninja Fix"

get rid of leased land: "leased land demolishable"

These mods tend to bug the games out and personally I think the better A.I people mention is in their heads as the A.I is hardcoded..

Play the proper designed vanilla.

Oh man i just tried this mod and it was way lame. First battle was defending a fort and there are so many troops / unit that my guys were all packed in there like sardines. Morale never goes down either in the end got bored of waiting and just deleted it. I don't think this mod is balanced for S2 sorry...

In fact, I don't have just him. I mentioned it as the only one that really modifies the game, great modification. Battles are slower, but can be very quick if you use tactics, such as attacking by the Franks, rear, using cavalry to charge and then return with her to charge again. Know how to use the mod ...
