SEGA Mega Drive & Genesis Classics
This Emulator VS KEGA Fusion Emulator
I love this thing. I adore the virutal gaming room; though I am aware many don't.

Nevertheless, this emulator isn't particularly good. It distorts audio and/or washes out colours on some games, but not others. I am a bit of a perfectionist, which lead me to make the decision to head back to KEGA Fusion as my main Sega Mega Drive emulator.

KEGA Fusion is nearly perfect and was developed by a former Mega Drive programmer, but it hasn't been updated in awhile and in Windows 10, it seems to have problems with the steam overlay when in fullscreen, screenshots in particular. There is no fix that works for everyone regarding Windows 10 & Fusion fullscreen compatability.

I am hoping there are some Sega Emulation gurus who check out these forums who may have some thoughts on this.

(RetroArch's Sega support is not nearly as comprehensive as Fusion for my needs, so I'd like to keep this topic more focused on Fusion, or something other than RA)

Cheers!

Oh yea, Kega Fusion is my favourite as well. Sadly, for some reason, on this newest laptop with Windows 10 it seems to have choppy scrolling as well as well as crashing when going full screen. So eh. Hopefully we will get a more modern Kega Fusion or worthy alternative one day.
If you ever come across one, please let me know. Until RA can get a solid Genesis core, or this Steam emulator gets an update with some new filters and graphics settings, Kega Fusion is still the best that I am aware of. I was able to sort all the issues by changing the compatibility settings to Win 8 & Disabling High DPI, but doing that breaks Steam screenshots. :P
I use windows 10 kega never gave me problems, as far as I know only a few non-steam apps have problems.

[GERMAN]Und welcher ist insgesamt besser außer im Preis ?
personally I use retroarch with 'genesis plus gx' core. No problems so far - all games (not just genesis, if you are interested in emulation overall) are available from the same place "at will", without requirment to play with configs (but you can do so from one of multiple menu drivers, if you wish). Plus there is a neat autosave/autoload feature, which allow you to continue from the very same spot, where you left your game weeks ago (may kill challenge - only use if you have self-control).

Kega Fusion 3.64 - is the best! Variety of filters do the stuff!

You do not need filters if you want to have original graphics

Problem is it uses DirectDraw as its output so two things can happen:
1. V-sync can be hit or miss, resulting in choppiness.
2. If V-sync is off, instead of seeing tearing you will see choppiness as it desyncs from the Desktop Window Manager.
Yeah, I use Retroarch which supplies you with tons of options for every system.
