Master System Classics
As of now, no one can add Wii Points to the Wii Shop Channel, so now no one can buy Master System games and use them on an official Emulator.

I think there should be a Master System Classics because the Master System has hidden gems in it, and not to mention it would be a legal way to play these games without hunting down a Master System, hoping it works, buying cartidges for it, hoping they work, etc.

And before you say "Just download a ROM of it", downloading ROMs without permission of the original creator of the ROM (in this case Sega), is illegal.
And not to mention most ROM sites are sketchy.

And maybe it can have Steam Workshop support too.

I just want a way to play Sonic Chaos legally.

i think, they should relaunch their entire 90s collection with this project. that is, master system + mega drive + 32x + mega cd + saturn. maintaining everything at once in the 90s didn't worked for sega, but as an emulator (with multiplayer) it could be true hit of classics.

I would like this too. I love the Mega Drive but it's time for the Master System to get some attention.

I just brought a Master System on eBay just a few minutes a go because Steam lacks a MAster System Classics.

I tihnk both consoles have their qualities. For a long while I've been thinking of reviewing MAster System games because there are classics that most take for granted.

For example when you think NES you think Super Mario, Zelda, Metroid, pretty much half of SSBros veterans.

For Master System theres Alex Kidd, Fantasy Zone and backwards ports of Mega Drive games. Surely there are other pearls to bring to attention.

Also, not to steal attention from this thread to mine, but I made a thread proposing why not just SEGA Mega Drive & Genesis Classics be rebranded as "SEGA Classics" and allow all systems to Sega games to be available? Just saying why just ask for one console when Sega has a whole series of consoles.

Yeah other systems do hog the lime light but i belive if it wasnt for nintendos licensing agreements the ms would have other games that woukd of made it as memorable.
Also the game gear (game boy color alternative by sega sharing most its hardware woth the ms)
Is over looked but alot of its games are prety much ms ports if not with skight changes like sonic green hill zone has warning signs if i rember sorry if im wrong die hard sega fans
Theres also an adapter to play them on your sega ms witch unlike the nes dont think it haduch a thing until the snes super game boy adapter.

Alex kid was not a backwards port was it as im sure it was segas mascot befor sonic and was included in some of the master systems untill the sonic port came out but sonic on the ms is way diffrent to the mega drive as theres exclusice stages and 1sts for the series not present in their 16 bit sonic versions if u wana know more feel free to ask
Im also sure fantasy star was not a bacwards port as im almost sure it came out in the late 80s i actualy hade an artical on it here some where unless my with threw it out XD
I cant say about 2 n beyond
I would like to see some reviews on ms games n not emulatiom another good gem is thunder blade diffrent to super thunder blade as it was almost a faithful remake of the coin op version oh n pac mania is awsome:) so yeah if im wrong with any thing let me know as a fool who asks is but a fool for a minute but a fool who dont ask is a fool forever :)

It's a pity when people think Game Gear they think a battery guzzling brick.

I mean come on! The GameBoy had some nice games but the Game Gear was full colour and had the quality of a (pre-gen) home console! Even if it chewed through 6 AAs in under 5 hours it was still impressive for it's time!

Game Gear could also use a standard Sega AC adaptor for charging and indefinate playtime.

People seem to compare it's flaws with the GameBoy and fail to realise the obvious awesomeness the device had.

Sonic 1 and 2 8-bit are good examples. Maybe if they did Master System ports of the Drift games too. (which are currently Game Gear only as far as I can tell)

I'd also like to see a Saturn Classics as well, with the Saturn Sonic R (or a NiGHTS PC style remake/port of one with both PC and Saturn graphics as well as more levels and characters), Rayman 1 Saturn, Sonic 3D Flickes Island Saturn, Burning Rangers and Croc.

I'm aware of that and I already have Rayman Forever, but I needed a fan patch to restore the music of the original disk game and even then it just plays all the tracks for one zone in each level of that zone, except the boss fights. It also does not have the intro and ending videos, with the former being an optional download that you cannot view in game.

The Saturn version does not have those issues and it also has similarly implemented weather effects as Sonic 3D Blast Saturn. (which are cut down in the PC version of that game as well)

The only difference in the Saturn Version of Sonic 3D Blast are the music, the graphics (which are more or less the same), and a zone map to show which zone you are in. At least from what I've seen.
