Also weird that the package files dropped by 1,2 GB suddenly in the new Depot
Yeah, I dunno what's up with the game files being changes... Oh, do note that the download is compressed. It's possible that the data files are the same, or close to, the original size after they've been downloaded and extracted.
You're welcome :)
If one would want to feel experimental, one could try out a combination with the new game executable (fftype0hd.exe) from the QA build combined with the game files of the public build. If that works, then users would only need to download that small ~7 MB package or whatever it is.
I haven't tested it myself as there's even more risk with that than to just ensure all files are of the intended version.
seems rather dumb to give a @ work around@ rather then jsut fix the damm thing itself
Well, as I am not affiliated with Square Enix this is the limit of my ability. I don't think it's dumb though for me to attempt to help the community in the way I can. If anything it's the very opposite.
indeed Aemony , glad you did shared this with the groep ,
thank you very mutch , and lets hope this solves it totally (that we have to see with testing etc ;) )
wondering that myself to ;)
I'm guessing there's an approval process. Square Enix is a company and not a small time dev so there are more procedures to follow before things go public.
He didn't "fix" the issue, exactly, but found a way to download the version that SE is currently testing for release. It is not something we are supposed to have access to, but SE made a bit of a mistake and made the files public(ish).
But since this version seems to work without any serious issues, it should only be a matter of time before the game is update officially with that version.
