1. leech man = most annoying enemy in the history of the Resident Evil franchise (Outbreak not included
2. inventory system fuc*ing sucks (drop and collect - backtrack)
3.Hookshot
4. Rebecca weak as fu*k (who wants a medic in the team who dies this easily lol?)
5. 6 inventory slots
6. no item boxes
7. i would say the story is worse or no its bad as RE5 and RE6 (where do all these exotic enemies come from?)
8. Billy
9. Molotov (does anyone seriously use this? No seriously. Both of them throw the Molotov as if they have Arthritis and are 110 years old.
10.
pros:
1. old style RE thats why i bought it lol.
btw Dennis I think you a ♥♥♥♥♥ lol
the enimies as a game had to be fresh yes if you think abot it made no sense but otherwise it was another facility failed experiments and such
I loved backtracking it made it more realistic if they did that in RE2 remake id welcome it but i know they shouldnt due to the amount of people that hated it.
molotov is awesome if you first play the game and well dont have good or infinit weapons personal opinion
- While item drop mechanic is pretty cool, the backtracking with it is the biggest problem for me.
- Characters can become unavaible without warning, which causes items to become unavaible
too which again is annoying. (but first playthrough mainly)
- The throwing mechanic is flawed and inaccurate (slow throw, range easily within smacking distance from mimicry and if you're near a corner you might hit the corner instead)
- Rebecca is really squishy
- Monkey juggling is avoidable, but still cheap.
- More insight into Bravo team wouldve been welcome to me.
As someone who has only played this from the recent steam launch since I never owned a gamecube; I have to say now after having experienced it that it is kind of the weakest of the original classics though.
Story was kind of meh and non-existent, was hoping to get more of a resolution on Billy's past and more focus of the events that led the remains of Bravo team to the Spencer estate. As it stands it felt like I was just arbitrarily pushing forward as I got new keys or items to open up new pathways 'Because', rather than any real driving force.
Compounded by the fact that unlike the previous games you generally didn't even encounter any other antagonists or characters at all (outside a few Bravo members like, once or twice)
Yeah there's those cutscenes with the monitors, but it wasn't at all the same thing for me.
Backtracking - and as was mentioned the fact that you can without warning lose access to a character (who may be holding all your powerful gear/healing items); was a bit of a pain for first time players, having to go all the way back to wherever you left the hookshot (likely the train crash area..) since it is needed again about 3/4 of the way in was also questionable game design (In the rest of the franchise, whenever a key item is needed again you could just grab it from an item box).
And yeah those monkeys are cheap and un-fun when several of them literally just stunlock you in a corner to death without a chance to do anything.
Molly's are barely usable also with the odd aiming angle and bad throwing animation, I just saved all these and eventually spammed the slow moving, large target last boss instead.
Glad to have finally got a chance to play this original un-owned console exclusive, but it feels kind of tacked onto the franchise and a hell of a lot less fleshed out than the other main entries.
to be honest id even take 6 over 0. make no mistake i still enjoyed 0 to a degree, but its elements and core design allow for a consistent level of frustration and annoyance that never goes away that i feel even 6 doesnt have (except the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ inventory system).
Has nothing to do with it at all. RE1 Remaster sold extremely well and it was well received.
Thats ONLY because finally after 17+ years or whatever it was that in crapcoms desperation (as there seriously losing money) they FINALLY re-released this game on ALL platforms this time around instead of sticking it on the crapcube as an exclusive
Only now can many people FINALLY play RE1 remaster for themselves as not everyone wanted to spend £100+ on a nintendo crapcube for just 1 game
this basically
Is like the old ones, i like 3d camera view, but i want to think to escape , in this games, not to go where the game says i have to go..
RE 0 push you to think, not to run and shoot, not even to shoot so , the people who dont want to take time, to solve the game, just go ,and play RE6 ,you dont have to use your head, in that game..
RE1 Remaster begs to disagree. As it was Capcom's fastest sold digital title ever in their history according to them.
Again, RE0 is receiving less attention because it was never among the best RE titles in the first place.
You don't have to play the game with tank controls.
Also who cares about todays standards?
You know what todays standards brought us?
Resident Evil 6. Enough said.
I don't really mind Rebecca being so weak, at least there's a difference between the two characters.
There is a valid reason to choose billy if you know you need to fight enemies.
Rebecca can mix herbs instead.
It would be uninteresting if they both had the same abilities and attributes.
I have to admit no item boxes and the item backtracking is annoying.
But you don't have to take everything with you anyways.
Just leave the unecessary stuff behind even if it hurts a little.
Also seriously? You're complaining about inventory slots in a classic Resident Evil?
Personally I think the leech zombies aren't so bad.
And molotovs are really useful against them ( what are you talking about? ).
If the leech zombies are so hard and annoying to you I think they designed them correctly.
It is supposed to be hard and that's what you guys don't understand.
I finished the game on hard in ~4 hours and that isn't even close to some of the speedruns, which are 1 hour 50 minutes or something.
So long story short: git gud.
