Alt Tab
Is alt tab supposed to crash the game? Because this remaster is from 2016.

Not being able to alt tab a game without it crashing is 100% absolutely unacceptable for a game in 2016. Be like a game not supporting fullscreen.

I alt-tab into and out of the game frequently, so this might be an issue with your setup. First of all, I wanna ask, do you run the game in Windowed, Borderless, or Fullscreen? (Objectively, Borderless is the most versatile option here, so use that if you're not already, because it is immune to alt-tabbing shenanigans.)

Borderless isn't an option for me. The game's 'video' options area only has fullscreen and windowed. On top of that, it doesn't support my resolution as well. I run 1366x768. Closest the game supports is 1360x768 or 1600x900.

UPDATE

While I was testing and typing this, I had the game set to fullscreen. Then I changed it to windowed, hit apply, and I got the same exact crash. I didn't even alt tab this time.

This game is busted.

Big F, I'm sorry to hear about your device's resolution. Simply put, games and the standard for the technology they demand has come a long way in the past decade (and this is certainly one of the games released in that time), so I wish you luck in finding a display that can handle HD content (and possibly other hardware that can handle a simplistic remaster without crashing too, as I believe that there is the possibility that your setup may just be subpar).

L4D2. Skyrim. Spore. Fallout. Dark souls. Borderlands. RE2 and 3. Subnautica. Over a hundred more in my library.

From old games to indie games to remasters to modern AAA titles, I've played them all extensively and never had any issues like this with my whole ass screen resolution not being supported.

I don't think my setup is sub-par.
I'd like to make a note that it didn't start happening to me until later in the game. Could it be linked to the time in the game or maybe the number of saves and "too many" saves causes the game to crash?

Been a while, but I remember with absolute certainty that I had just started playing for the first time. I don't think I had saved the game a single time. Always crashed before I could get to any save point.
