Anybody else uses the original controls rather than the alternative controls?
Me being being an OG Resident Evil fan since I was a kid I will always stick with the original tank controls because I laugh when new players complain about the tank controls saying it's clunky which is true but I would argue it's not that big of a deal and it's easy to get use to.

Original controls feel more natural too.

I played way too much of the originals back then to get used to the alternate controls. Tank control feels more comfortable with fixed camera.

Alternate Controls for me all the way. I always ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hated those ♥♥♥♥ tank controls those games had back in 96'. I could never get totally use to it. It's like being in jail, you get use to it, but you don't get use to it.

It was meant as a joke my friend. That's why I put the lol at the end to signifying that I was joking, not serious. I don't have a problem with people using alternative controls if that's what they are comfortable with. Take it easy.

Well, your sense of humor sucks then. A lot of ppl are passive-aggressive and put an "lol" at the end of their sentence to pretend they were joking. When in fact, they were not. Maybe you were being genuinely "funny". I don't know you from Jump Street, so I can't automatically assume you were kidding. These forums have a lot of stupid childish morons on Steam. Therefore, I don't trust anyone until I get to know them a bit. It can be confusing sometimes. I am sure you can understand that.

Oh I understand. But if you look at my original comment you can read that I admitted that the "controls are clunky". I don't care if you think my sense of humor sucks, it was suppose to be a joke without trying too hard. I've been on 9gag since 2010 and I know exactly the kind of passive aggressive behavior that goes on over there on that website. I'm just letting you know that it was a genuine joke.

The old tank controls are the best, orginality, comfort because of prior use, harder controls makes it more fun, in some ways easier, and you can't go wrong with nostalgia.

I actually don't understand how people manage to use the new controls, it's the original "tank" all the way for me. The problem with the new controls is everytime the camera changes, so do the controls, so you end up running in the wrong direction every camera cut and having to stop and think to work out what direction to put the stick in.

I don't mind if the game gives you an option, let people choose what they want, but I remember Silent Hill 4 being released in the PC-DVD days and it only had the new style controls (made even harder because I was using the keyboard arrow keys to move). I think Silent Hill 3 let you choose, so I obviously kept with the classic. I found SH4 a total nightmare, Henry was constantly doubling back into enemies when he was supposed to be running away just because the camera changed and the direction I was holding now meant run towards the enemy and not away!

At least with "tank" controls, up is always forward so you don't have to worry. It's just automatic for me and I never have to think about it.

I once tried to play with the alternative and it felt horrible. The tank is so much better, natural and I'm just used to it after all the years spent in RE games. People do complain about the original control, but I always liked it because there's skill involved in the movement here. Once you master it you really become a more skillful player. Not only it feels great, but it also provides you with all sorts of tricks you can use to avoid enemies and save ammo/aid.

Although true, it is really hard to then turn left and right when under pressure and you have to think about what directions these will now be when they aren't relating to the screen you're now looking at. This is especially difficult if you want to traverse multiple camera changes in one unbroken run. If the controls don't change it is easy to run through multiple sreens when left is always left, right is always right, up is always forward etc. Fair play the modern controls work for you though, that's why it's good to have the options to choose. You would probably hate being forced to use classic controls only as much as I would being forced to use modern contols only (like Silent Hill 4).

Pretty much my thoughts, it's much easier to run around enemies, and I generally get around the map much more quickly.
