As for starting class, I agree with both choices, although you should be aware that you cannot respec in DkS, so those starting stats do matter for min/max'ers. Bandit gives you a slightly better point spread if you plan to go full melee and its gear is also quite useful. The actual difference is very slim, however.
Aside from Deprived, all the starting classes are good in DS2, choose whatever class looks the most fun to you, people will argue over whats better but its all opinion.
Don't do this it makes the area harder.
OFC! If you want to play a Hard game, maybe chosing the hard class is the best idea, moreover in late game this class is the best for making an specific build. Cheers!!
